A business is not for the faint hearted and like a marriage same there.. youre always got changes good points highs lows keeping it a good balance..communication has to be kept open not assuming anything.looking at the whole picture ..

It does take a strong will and heart to have your own business. I have a rather small business and it will remain small for quite awhile. I do dream of doing it full-time but not yet. So, in reality my business is part-time.

I need the comfort of a reliable weekly check as well as insurance coverage.

I'm saving money to take that plunge but not right now.

Whatever your business is can you freelance for a major company or sub-contract?

We worked through it partly, more recently due to Sandy. I am an independent consultant so my paychecks per se come from my clients, usually means I work and go get a check.. Hurricane screwed up my October 31 collections until today and she is ticked off about it. WTF? Thjere are a ton of people out there far worse off and a ton of small businesses really suffering now. So I am only a few days off of things due to freaking horrible storm. Sheesh, she has zero perspective on things.

Maybe she is like me.
I feel very insecure w/o an income that can at least cover most of the bills every month.
Have you considered a regular job?
Would this be something she has said she would like?

It is just a thought.
Maybe this would be something you don't feel you could do.

She is retired.

I have looked for regular jobs, and in this most wonderful of economy(s) there are few for a 57 year old.

I am on my own totally.

No good anymore, all we do is fight and fight.
