I am newly a diabetic and am insulin dependent as my blood sugar levels were at 842. My whole problem is the cost, since this caught me when I have no insurance. I can't afford any refills of Lantus and Humalog which one of them is $188 and the other is a little over $300, thus the combo costs about $500. I've called my doctor to see if there is anyway to get around that. Haven't heard from his office yet. Soon, the pharmacy contacted me stating my prescriptions were ready. So I called and found out these horrendous prices.
A little while ago, my MD applied for MAPS for me to qualify for a reduced rate, but I don't know if I qualify and it hasn't acted yet if I do qualify.
I'm researching all natural insulin helps such as cinnamon--something that at least would tide me over just in case there is a gap between my regular insulin and when or if MAPS approves me. If MAPS approves me, then thankfully, this whole problem will be pretty much solved.
If this is any help, my diabetes is under control. I'm Type 2 and most of the time, my readings are between 75 and 100. Thank you ahead of time for your time and help.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ
