I do not want to do another bankfuckingruptcy.....I did one in 2004......this sucks....
They'd send me threatening letters and phone me but I didn't send them any money. I still worked on my other debts and put aside small amounts of money for this debt. Every time I got paid I'd put in an envelope $5 or $10 or more and any extra money always went into that envelope.
It was over two years later and they took me to court. I finally called them and they shot me an offer. I can't remember it all, but it was around $700-800 they took off the amount if I could pay it in full.
The money I was saving and one full paycheck had it paid in full and I avoided court.
Not picking on you or acting "holier than thou" just trying to be real. Years ago you mentioned that someone offered to manage your funds. I would seriously consider that. If you can't tell, yourself "no" then get someone who can!
One more thing, I have been reading these threads for awhile and I do believe Bill that you are on the right road! I remember a time you'd have nothing to do with DA and the idea of not using a CC wasn't an option.
Best wishes
but I am trying now to not take new debt.....that is a change....and I am going to get a bunch of money from tax return.....so maybe I can work out a deal with them....but I doubt I have enough to make it happen.....
I had no furniture, for awhile I slept on the floor, I lived off a cheap food and walked everywhere.
TO ME, bankruptcy is for unforeseen debt. A loss of job and medical expenses are the reason for bankruptcy. Being in debt because of uncontrollable CC spending isn't a reason.
Half of my debt was medical, the other half was self-inflicted. It was this childish treatment of money that bothered my conscious and made it impossible FOR ME to go bankrupt.
