Boy my family is sure having a hard time with these fuel prices. My husband is a otr truck driver we are independent so we don't have a company paying for the fuel OUCH! Not sure how much longer we can hang on, we are in so much debt and we can't seem to climb out. The gov needs to do something to help the truckers with fuel or the whole economy is just going to get worse. That is why grocery prices are going through the roof. I sure hope with the election something will be done, it might be to late for us though

The 63 per cent profit increase went to an all-time high of $119.93 a barrel on Monday. Significant increases in the price of natural gas also contributed to BP's first quarter net income of US$7.62 billion. During the same period last year the company made US$4.66 billion.
Despite growing global concern about the decrease in oil and gas reserves and the looming threat of an energy crisis, the company's records show BP's first quarter production did not decrease when compared to last year's rate. For the first quarter of 2008 the company's production totalled 3.91 millions barrels of oil equivalent per day.
I don't think it will matter if you get a republican or a democrat in office that it will necessarily change the gas prices.
Did you know Iran/Iraq sells oil to Candada which in turn sells it to the USA? Always ways around making money from the USA even if not directly.
