Financially Secure

A yahoo article listed ten items that needed to be in place to be financially secure. In the past, I had different types of insurance just because I had to... now I can't imagine not having these things in place.

Like I said, just by the luck of the draw, I had some in place... in all I have 9 of 10... the tenth one I get a pass on because I don't have any college age children...

Since I'm from the UK, only 1, 2 and 3 apply to me. I'm ashamed to admit that Gran pays my Car Insurance. (perhaps this is the first chipping away of the denial of this)

The Republic of Ireland has an even worse Health Service than we do. (and ours is Car Crash) I guess that the lavish spending on roads has meant services being in decline. It seems like Haulage Firms dictate Roads Policy in UK and Ireland.

I guess now that the miracles are happening I am now able to advocate for myself.

I read through the list and I also have 9 out of 10 in place (no college age children for me either) even though I can't say my savings account is "high yield", the savings account is still in place. I'm in a situation where I'm recovering from divorce and trying to catch up from over drawn accounts and past due bills. It's hard but not untouchable. I work full time and I sell crafts on the side to supplement income, I've cut just about every luxury I can without going nuts. Now I've just gotta climb the hill. This article gave me a bit of hope that I'm on the right track though.

I only have 1, 2, 4 and 6---that's all I can financially afford. I don't have to worry about college.
