to pick up a penny? I do. I bend down to pick up all sorts of money... the smallest I've gotten is a penny and the largest was a $20 bill.... in England the largest I've found is a 2 pound coin...

Anyway, the other day, the girlfriend and I were walking home in this wide open outdoor mall type place. This town is far from a tourist haven for any nationality - it's just a quiet little community.

So as we were walking I spotted a shiny coppery coin and bent down to pick it up. And yes it was a penny.... BUT a different penny... an American penny in England found by and American...

I pick up pennies all the time... my husband laughs at me - but money is money! Plus any money in my mind that I find is lucky!

yes I bend down for pennys and yes I have found $20 bill too....I do it all the time....and when I record it into my petty cash it is recorded as a gift....

I found a hundred dollar bill in the store. I walked around and asked if anyone had lost any money but didn't tell them why or what amount I had found. No one said they did so I kept it. I wish that happened more often.

Over 10 years ago, before becoming disabled, I had two dogs and I used to walk them super early on Saturday and Sunday mornings. We would pass by a bar and there was so much change and often paper money there in the empty parking lot. I gathered it all up plus anything I found anywhere else I went every day and put it all in a jar at home. At the end of each year, I would go to the one fantastic no-kill animal shelter and donate it all, plus give them a check from me too. I usually had about $75 in that jar for each year.

Then other people got wise and went to the bar ahead of me. But I was working and I made it up in the check I gave to the animal shelter.
