This a continuation on my cosigning for a family member. I called the agency to try to set up a payment and they refused to take $25 a month. I was told that was not enough. I told them that was all i could afford right now. Needless to say I didn't get anything accomplished with trying to work something out so I said thank you and hung up. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
It might take a couple or more different calls but I'd ask them what exactly do they expect your monthly re-payment to be and try to negotiate some leverage even if you have to hang up and call and speak with another person
Also, know that debt collectors that call you or you call them by law are obligated to treat you with respect. (ie no swearing at you, or threatening your life body or family etc) any debt collector that crosses that line needs to be and should be reported! Regardless of how much money you do or don't owe you still have legal rights!
