Is it your first meeting with the trustee or your attorney? There is nothing to fear. The trustee will ask your attorney questions. He might ask you, too. If so, just answer honestly and sincerely. There should be no judgement or criticism of you by either one.

Any time I have ever been in court, I have learned to speak when spoken to and to never volunteer any information beyond what is being asked. I would suggest that you do the same.

There is one other thing, though, and that is what are you doing to not gamble? Are you going to GA meetings, do you have a sponsor? Gambling addiction is a horrible addiction; I have heard several alcoholics say that gambling addiction is worse than anything they have ever gone through.

Gambling addiction is not at all about the money. It is about a spiritual disease, a spiritual bankruptcy, if you will, but recovery is possible through working a program of recovery. The money takes care of itself and it will all work out in the end.

Yes, I am going to GA meetings. I go to 2 meetings a week. I am part of the Gamblers forum on this site. I have also banned myself from the local casinos in my state.

Gambling addiction is so difficult, I think about playing blackjack all of the time.... I have also heard that it is a very difficult addiction to beat. I am trying one day at a time.

I do not even remember much from my bankruptcy but I was under the old rules from prior to the new changes in BK....I did not meet with trustee....I did meet with the court one time to discuss my filing and and that was it....done at that point...mine wiped out most of my debts but not student loans...I was not required to repay anything forgiven...
