Financial challenges include everything from the day-to-day challenges of making ends meet to managing credit card debt to bankruptcy. I love when, in my mind, I have saved enough money to treat myself to a reward... the big reward is my yearly trip to England... but throughout the year I treat myself to different types of rewards.
Simple ones, like renting a movie on Amazon and having a pizza and chicken wings delivered ... a night of movies and munchies...
Recently I treated myself to a class on learning to pay a Native American Flute. It cost me $65 and for me, it was worth every penny. I loved it and now love fooling around learning how to play it.
On the fifth day, I played "Amazing Grace." yes, it sounded like ti was the fifth day... LOL... but I still loved it. I have never played an instrument in my life, so I'm quite thrilled with what I have learned already. I was so thrilled with my progress that I even made a YouTube video of it... LOL
Five years ago, there was no way I could justify spending $65 on a "toy" like this. Yes, my Higher Power has taken me quite a ways and continues to bless me... all I need to remember is to remain humble. It has taken me five years to get my finances in order... I can lose it in five minutes if I'm not careful and somehow get that foolish belief that I'm in charge...

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmon

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....
You deserve a reward every now and then, right? :)
Budgeting doesn't have to be a punishment... the rewards can be physical (gifts to ourselves) as well as spiritual (a stress free life)
I've arranged to get a Coach from Dublin to Bangor in North Wales; via the Dublin to Hollyhead Ferry; to visit a DA Buddy. Because the times aren't ideal for Buses from and to Northern Ireland, I'd have to get the Train from Portadown to Connolly Station. (which, luckily, is right beside Busaras)
I have already arranged visits to Birmingham for an OA Convention and Chester for a Music Convention. It has come to the stage where I need to start visiting more places in Britain.
Thank God for DA and UA.
