This community is for people who are struggling to meet financial obligations of any kind. Financial challenges include everything from the day-to-day challenges of making ends meet to managing credit card debt to bankruptcy. Get support from others who are going through similar obstacles on the road back to financial stability.
I had a four day weekend. Thursday where I work was a "floating" holiday... we have one every year and the employees choose when they want it and this year was July 3rd. It's going to be hard going back to work on Monday. LOL
Anyway, I used the weekend to pay a majority of my bills for the month, except for rent and cell phone bill. Rent isn't due till Thursday and cell phone isn't for another couple of weeks... so I'm sitting good for the month.
Besides that, I did something I had no plans of doing and didn't need to do. For over a year I've been getting mail from Discover. So, in a weak moment, I went on-line and applied and was approved. I really don't need another CC. Heck, I have three now that I rarely use. At most, I use one card a month. Then the next month I use another one. So now instead of using a card once every three months, I will be using them once every four months.
With an attitude of gratitude, I am grateful that I can get these cards now. There was a time where it wasn't possible. I'm grateful to respect them and have no debt (interest) from them.
I'm grateful for an amazing credit score... something that five years ago was below 400 and most of all thank you God for a second chance...

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmon

This weekend was my websites 10th anniversary. I had no idea what my website would accomplish when I started it and now it is ten years old and is self-sufficient...

I visited Ulysses S Grant's ancestral home near Killeshill in South Tyrone. Although no one else was present the visitors place was open.
I had a laugh when I saw a 'grubber'. (A small Horse-Drawn plough used to get rid of sods and divets on a ploughed field) There is a local drunk man in my area who is known as 'The Grubber'. It brought a smile to my face.
I'm now gonna focus on the solution rather than the problem. :)
My plan is to move to the UK in a year or two and with what I have in savings and having a great credit report will only help me when it comes time to get a visa...
Right now, a non-European moving to the UK must have at least $23,000 in savings... I got that and while that helps, it isn't a guarantee...having a good work history (19 years at the same job) and a great credit rating (right now $10,000 available credit) it can only make my request stronger...
And that doesn't include my 401K. I'm just so grateful that my HP has helped me change my ways... five years ago I was $60,000 in debt... so so so thankful for a second chance
