This community is for people who are struggling to meet financial obligations of any kind. Financial challenges include everything from the day-to-day challenges of making ends meet to managing credit card debt to bankruptcy. Well, I got my first check from my disability insurance.
They pay once a month and there was no pay for the first two weeks. The reason being that most people that miss work usually are back within two weeks.
Anyway, first check was $256.69. Being 100% out of debt and all bills are current, I didn't need the money, so I put it all into savings. Time to start rebuilding what was lost due to my recent medical issues.
Next check will be the first week in November for $1,100. They gave me 20 to 24 weeks for recovery. I'm still hoping to be back at work, at least part-time, before the end of the year.
Today, I get the staples removed from my last surgery and more healing begins. Next Tuesday, cardiac rehab starts and moving forward with everything.
I mailed out six bills for medical expenses and now everything is paid. Insurance is now covering 100% of everything.
This is a first for me... every time I went to a doctor or hospital I had no idea how I'd pay for it all and then every follow up appointment there I'd be at the desk making a small payment and making promises (rarely kept) about future payments.
And the ultimate good news, I've had a couple of appointments this week and both doctors see no problems with my winter getaway to England...

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmon

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....
Speaking of Manchester, Man City; the Soccer team owned by Members of the Abu Dhabi Royal Family; have the cheapest Season Tickets in the top flight. My Gooners have the most expensive. (even by London standards, it's Astronomical)
Also, Derby County's old Ground was called the Baseball Ground because Baseball was pretty popular in England during Victorian Times. (it evolved from Cricket and Soccer was still fledgling back then) So, perhaps I might tempt you and your Partner to pay a visit to Derby. (they also had quite a few American Internationals during their time)
I have no shame in filing for it because I pay for it...
