We can't recommend books? Seriously?

Are you talking about the post that had a direct link to purchase the book? When I saw that I expected the post to be closed. You are not allowed to sell product or services on this site. That rule is to benefit everyone.

Talking about the book is one thing, but a link that has the only purpose to sell the book is another thing entirely.

Maybe you're talking about a different post, I'm not sure as I have been very ill lately and have not been on much.

Pretty much another No No is to open a New Post about a Closed Post...always best to write to "The Establishment" and Inquire as to Why a Post was Closed..rather then to Speculate.

Youdon--You are mistaken. That is not a violation of DS rules. The rules state you cannot benefit in any way.

Even if that were the case, why remove the entire thread?

answer: no. Totally not. I merely posted about a book by Dr. Dryland. I was reading it, and I posted about it, and did not post directly from the book, nor did I post a link to or about it.

answer: not speculating. Inquiring as to why... I have read through the rules and there is no rule violated in the post on the book I am reading. Also, I note that DS does not moderate and that any review must have been suggested by a member here. I consider that to be personally offensive, considering I have done no harm.

Books! This is actually a little scary. Blaming the victim is original though.

I also wondered why, I read the thread, and I agreed with some points, disagreed with some other points, but saw no harm to anyone. There will be disagreements sometimes, but we can handle it. We are a pretty tough bunch. We have fibro, we HAVE to be tough, lol.

If it was the book itself, then what is this site for? I thought it was for discussion on all things that may help people suffering with fibro, and if so, I saw nothing in that thread that I feel should violate any rule.

I also wonder why DS is being so silent on this? If they close a thread, why don't they at least post why it is being closed? Carrie is usually pretty quick to answer why she chose to do what she did, but there is nothing on this but silence.

If someone is promoting something they profit from, I say close it. If someone is posting about something that has helped them, or they are hopeful it will help them, thats why we are here, IMHO!!

Surely DS isn't in bed with the drug companies...there have been many posts in the past promoting products, and I found some benificial, and they weren't drugs.

DS please say something, otherwise all we can do is speculate.

Another thought, why don't they close OLD POSTS that cause so much confusion.

Yeah I knew you didn't close the post, Carrie, I was just saying that you usually respond to questions about closings when you are involved is all I meant. At least from what I remember.
