And, yes, it does frustrate me and make me somewhat angry, but I don't want to dwell on that. It doesn't do me any good to stay angry about it.
But as someone pointed out in another post, all diseases started out unknown and misunderstood at first, so I choose to hope that one day we'll all know.
I prefer to say "solution based" and work on ways to live the best life I can live rather than dwell on the "why" that's probably going to stay unknown for my lifetime. I participate in research studies when I have the opportunity in the hope that I can have a small part in identifying cause and cure - but it doesn't change what is and that's what I have to focus on.
They have to start somewhere with all of them. And since ours technically isn't "life threatening", I guess the researchers figure out there is plenty of time. How do you figure out what causes something no one can see?
As far as the brain fog my doctor said when the body is in constant pain it depletes our serotonin levels, which in turn messes with our ability to think cognitively.
My doctor says they are working on a medication to interfere with the pain signals, but it might take another 10yrs.
So for now, we cope.
I have no idea if the way I feel now is still a result of that even though I stopped or unrelated.
Al of my docs have said that it MAY have been caused in me when I had Lyme's disease really bad, but nobody knows for sure!
I like everybody else, HATE having FM, it takes me twice as long to heal from things then somebody without it, I hate the moving pain, the brain fog, the pain that is constant, probably even there when I sleep!, But I deal with it the best I can!
It's the medical industrial complex, they make millions off obfusicating the causes of disease only to create drugs that don't work so they can make a profit off the suffering and dying. It's a Ponzi scheme and I for one will spend the rest of my life exposing their dirty tricks.
I believe that other medication can bring on FM attacks and make it worst. Something has to be the cause FM.............
