Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
I see a Pain Management doctor now. Its kind of tough with all the restrictions but its worth it. Personally, I feel, a family doctor is used to just treating common problems like colds, infections or being sick in general. To get the proper care, you need a specialist. I get my Pain Medication and my shots are given right where they need to be put rather than a guess.
I tried Tramadol/Ultram earlier in my pain management but it never worked for my pain. They just aren't strong enough. Get a referral to another doctor who specializes in the management of Pain or Fibromyalgia. I guess its not what title the carry but rather how well they treat you.
Good Luck,
Ralph
My pain doc specializes in fibro and is not that helpfull, he tells me to loose weight and exersise and i'm starting PT this week. i hope it helps but anything except yoga has killed me so far.
So far the person who has helped me the most is my GP, he's not afraid to doll out the pain meds. I get a good amount and i've had to switch it up a time or two and increase doses and taper of and re start but at least its being managed and i'm not in horrible pain.
Gastroenterologist, Uro-Gynocologist, Podiatrist, Neurologist,
TMJ Specialist, Opthamalogist ( Several different specialist), and I quit my Rheuma because he did not believe in Fibro. Also see acupuncture physician. I just have more diag. than just Fibro, and unfortunately, I have this regime. I can usually space out most but IM, Neuro, Pain Mgn.
for a yearly appointment. Have tried two different Pain Clinics and seen so many different docs, but I have now tried to avoid the appointments as much as possible except for basics. I decided to take charge and make the choices of who was really helping and interested. Unfortunately, I've had my share of bad ones and when I got copies of my medical records, I was shocked. They had things that were in complete error and I didn't even recognize that I was the patient. Be sure and get copies of your records so that you will know they are listening to what you tell them. You could be shocked at what they hear!!! or record!!!!!
