Hello Everyone,
I have a question. What type of doctor should I go to for my Fibro? There are so many types & I'm confused. And Do I still need a Primary Physician?
I was diagnosed by my Pedatrician Rhemeutologists years ago, she was great. Then when I switch over to a Family Practice, I started seeing the doctor my mom saw for a couple years. He was great with my other issues but he didn't think I had Fibro but he never did any test to figure out what was wrong. So I haven't seen a doctor in a year and I want to start fresh... Just don't know where.
Help, Please?

Well I have not had a 'fibro' doc yet and i have dx since 1994, with sx before that. Anyways, by reading alot of infor. here I am trying a Rheumy. I just made an appt today!!! I went by my gut at my sons allergy place(loved them) and no one was in the waiting room so i had a nice talked w the rec and made my first appt. so.... try a rheumy. my family doc knows a little about alot of things so she doesnt specialize in this, that might b where u r. let me know and i will keep ya updated when i see him in march!!!

While it USED to be recommended that you start with a rheumatologist, these days they are not the first choice. You probably ought to try to get a primary care doc that you can work with who will treat the fibro, but also you can look into neurologists, pain specialists, or an osteopathic doc.

I would go with a pain clinic. They usually have different specialty doctors on staff. As well as Nurse practitioners, that specialize in pain management.Best of luck....Cheryl

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
