Go to the doc!!!! Better safe than sorry. However, taking a lot of ibuprophen can make you bruise easily. Good luck.

Just to make you feel better... a bruise can cause a lump, like when you get a bump on your head and it bruises. Bruises don't usually surface for a day or two, so it would not look bruised if you hurt yourself recently. Since I have been on heavy duty ibuprophen, it looks like I am a professional boxer. I get huge bruises, and don't have a clue where I got them. It is highly unlikely that you have anything serious, but you should go to the doc.

Thank you Inkprincess, right now it's not discolored at all nor is it a lump on the outside it's more of a knot under the skin. If that makes any since.

Maybe its just a calcium cyst or whatever they are called but they hard little balls under the skin.

I would just watch it for a few days, see if it starts yellowing or gets red or swollen more,. Could be a trigger point,

i get these all the time 24/7 when i get pt they are amazed that i live w/these always feel like a honker of a bruise but no color on skin & under the surface! you need a good myofascel release massage i use tennis ball to help break them up tape two together or get a long athlete sock, tie knot 2in from toe put in tennis ball tie another knot ,pop in tennis ball & tie knot you end up w/ ends to hold & they roll around inside w/out rollin all over i have hese all over house & keep in purse you can put them under top for back when your sittin!

i get these cause i'm allergic to whatever they use to wipe you down with after they poke you. i just found this out. rubbing alcohol or watever it is

I have muscle knots, spasticity all the time. Arms, back, neck, shoulders, etc.. I like to use BenGay rub and start with gentle massage and work at using a little firmer pressure until it releases. I have to use something topical like the BenGay though to help. Otherwise it's just too painful. Good luck, TW.

I was going to say about the same as Carwrite....I have knots that are painful to touch. They are in my arms...kind of like a fiberous lump...I was told this "ropey" type feeling tissue is normal with Fibro! I can't say they are a "trigger point"...as they are mainly along my upper arms and mine are painful to the touch. My massage therapist works on these painful buggars and this helps alot.

Can you move it? I have lump and my doctors says that as long as it moves t ok. If it doesnt then its not good. It would probably be good to get it checked to be on the safe side!

I get a lump everytime I get an injection, but it is at the point of the injection and it is under the skin, not visible. rayoof has point, do you know if your allergic to latex or anything, the person who drew your blood was wearing gloves probably?

My two cents... I bet they popped a muscle. Just a thought.

Also I have had a tumor.( it's not a tumor...LOL) and I have had cist as well.
If it hurts like hell it's probably not a tumor. They feel numb! Where cist can be quite painful.
