-I was born and lived happy until the age of 8, when I discovered that life is cruel.
-I survived 4 years of what I thought were the horrors of life, woke up at age 12 and taught myself to read and vowed never to be a victim again.
-I learned that my vows meant nothing, but that I could not control life, but I could control what I did about life.
- I married the boy down the street 32 years ago
- Raised 3 Fantastic kids of my own and 12 others...they are all doing very well and are healthy
- I started and served on the Board of a shelter for abused women & children in 1983...
- I started and ran a Family Support Group for parents of children drinking and drugging....
- I started and ran an After-Prom party program in our local High School in 1997...
- I started and ran a feed and clothe the homeless in the streets of Philadelphia in the 1980's.
- I was a Philadelphia tour director, proprietor, hotel manager, went to college at the age of 38 and graduated Magna cum laude.
- I taught troubled kids in a Public High School for 10 years.
- I witnessed the "I've Got A Dream" speech in Washington, when I was 8 years old.
-met a President, Pope, and movers and shakers, and learned that everyone poops on the same toilet as I do.
- I've seen the best and worst of people
- I was a local beauty queen and sang semi-professionally
-I nursed my father until his death in 1994
-I was traumatized beyond belief and died mentally in 2002, but survived that also.
- I have done a lot of things, traveled through Europe, lived in Europe, been to many places, traveled a lot of the world, but there is no place like home.....now give me those ruby slippers : )
Caught butterflies, lightening bugs, snakes and saved a few frogs, turtles and other critters.
I learned how to shoot clay pigeons and fish with a bamboo pole
I learned how to ride a dirt bike & 3-wheeler.
I grew up from that to have my first puppy love& my first broken heart....Gopher from the Love Boat (giggling)
I learned to drive though it was believed I wouldn't after how I drove the dirt bike and 3-wheeler......damage to lots of trees and bushes
I learned what happens to you when you go TPing.
I lived life to the fullest in my Sr year of HS. Oh the memories.
I went to beauty school while in high school and graduated from that the following year.
I cared for my Grandma after her stroke along with my mom.
When I was 19, I lived in my parents home while they moved out to take care of my grandma/ grandpa and the farm. I learned what it was "really like" in the real world....BILLS.
I was and still am a kick butt stylist. I'd still be doing hair if it wasn't for my wrist that wanted to retire. I don't toot my horn too often, but this IS one of them. Oh, and I can bake just about Anything. Cookies & Cakes are my specialty.
I experienced two great losses in my life. First my Dad suddenly and then my Grams. The two people in my world who knew how to calm me. I suffered from this until God brought hubby into my life.
I helped my mom go through her first round of Chemo when she was dx with Non Hodgekins Lymphoma. And I became "My Auntie" to the best niece in the world. She still call me "My Jen". It is truly an honor that I don't take lightly.
I then started my career as a admin assistant.
Then after 4 yrs of going no where (owner of company kept woman in low positions) I moved onto Customer service at a prescription benefit management company. Where I quickly rose to high positions one of which needed military govt clearance.
I learned to love again when I met my hubby.
After having our first born which was our "wonder" baby. I have a disease that causes infertility, I decided being a mommy was more important than any job in the world.
I experienced the greatest loss with a miscarriage only to be filled with a greater joy....our second born.
I learned about Fibro.....(I'm still learning)
I met some incredible and inspiring people (all of you)
And I'm living a dream life. Not the original dream I had as a kid...but one that is bigger and better than I had ever known life could be.
Through all of this...I have learned that I am ready for what live brings my way. Good or bad.
all the poeple you have helped... all the horrble things in life you have survived... all the education! ... all the things you started from scratch to reach out to other people... the kids you have raised...
my gosh, there are some truly AWESOME people here! seriously! I would have never known this side of all you.... how strong you all are... it's so amazing! wooow...!
