Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
Walking may be something to try. Five to ten minutes may be a good starting point, and after a week or so if you have no increase in pain, add a couple minutes. It is important to add time gradually so that you can see how well it is tolerated. Remember this---you often will not feel pain right away. There is muscle "soreness" which you can expect to some degree, but then there is pain. Again, a therapist can help you to learn stretching techniques and get you into an exercise program that is best for you. It is very important to stretch before and after any exercise.
I also went to PT for awhile, and they showed me a few exercises to do with light weights and bands....those are specific to the muscles in my shoulders, arms, and back.

Now I go to a warm therapy pool and I love it. The water supports and relaxes you, and the water gives some resitance. Check with your local hospitals to see if they have a warm pool. Mine is run by the PT department, so I saw a PT first, in her office then in the pool. After 3 sessions I was able to join the pool for a monthly fee,and can go to classes or open sessions every day. It's helped me so much!
