I'm kind of a reserved lugger too. I haul in only those things that can spoil. Then each time I use my car, I lug in something else instead of doing it all at once. One day at a time. It may sound silly, but it works for me.
I'm lucky to be close to the dump. So when my house trash gets full, I can stop by on the way to work and get rid of it intead of making lots of trips to the outside trashcans, then to the car, then to the dump.
During the week if I have something like chicken bones, banana peels or something that can spoil soon or make a stink, I put it in the freezer. Then on dump day I take it all out and away I go. I learned that from a dear friend !
I do love baby steps. The only time this doesn't work is if I'm spring cleaning and everything must go !
One of the girls I work with does her shopping in stages. At lunch she'll go and buy the non perishables, then another day the milk, etc.
Instead of the water jugs, have you thought of a water purifier that you attach to the faucet? We use a brita water filter and refill our own bottles. They did water tests and the local water was better quality than some of the 'bottled ones' Bottled only meaning someone put it in a bottle somewhere else.
Good luck in your new place.
Hope this helps!
Gentle Hugs!!
Ouchy, I'll have to check out those canvas bags. My fibro brain is having a hard time picturing them. (I freeze my garbage, too.)
Polly, I never thought of qvc. I'll have to check that out, too. Btw, I go to the grocery store to get refills of water purified by reverse osmosis to try to avoid all the junk in tap water, especially fluoride. I wish I could afford a reverse osmosis filter for home.
I know those clips, bubblebaby, and that's on my list, too.
Thanks, all!
Hope you figure it out - and good for you moving - we used to live in a place where the noise got out of control and neither the landlord nor the police would intervene. It can be miserable especially when you need to rest.
