I say that a lot, LOL. But it's true! Our drought watch is lifted! We're safe! (for now)
And I saw a chipmunk in our yard. First one since 2013. Why so long? Um... don 't ask.
My cats are watching it through the window in rapt fascination. "Must hunt it. What is it?"

Today in 1863, Abraham Lincoln as POTUS declared the lat Thursday of every November to be a national feast of thanksgiving. This cut down on the bewildering "givings of thanks" that could show up whenever any sect decided, btw.
In 1941, Adolf Hitler said Russia "would never rise again". Yeah, about that, Dolfie...
In 1952, the UK became the third nation to successfully test a nuke, in the warfare sense, and it's still a club of fewer than 12, that we know of. (That we don't know of, we don't look too closely, lest they set one off, is what one neighbor told me once.)
And in 1989, Art Shell became the first non-white NFL coach in the US, which is a big deal, and I remember it b/c now it's so comon but back then it was so big a deal. God I'm OLD

After yesterday I got nothin'.It was just the day that said "Leo, time to run away from home."
Still exhausted and haven’t caught up on sleep after my dental issues. I went to the dump already and I’m heading out soon to get a haircut and then go grocery shopping. I’ll need to walk Miki again when I get home, and then I can crash. I’m hurting like crazy after the past few days, otherwise I’d probably take Miki to the trails because it’s finally supposed to be nice out. Right now I’m surrounded by purring kitties and that’s the vibe I need today. Already not looking forward to Monday…not only are we busy, but I guess Jackie found out that her ex husband is seeing a lawyer to revise their divorce agreement (which allows her to live in their house until both kids graduate and he’s paying the mortgage), so that the daughter who’s 17 lives with him and they sell the house. The daughter has asked to live with him and mostly stays at his place, and Jackie gives him a lot of shit about everything and he’s over it, probably. Needless to say Jackie lost her shit. Went on a tirade about how she’s a good parent and he’s out to get her, etc. I guess she’s ignoring the crackhead fuck buddy, restraining orders and court cases? I’m surprised the ex didn’t do this sooner, but I’m sure I’ll hear allll about it Monday -_-
Flu shot made me nauseous, sore arm and my face is flushed today. No fever just flushed. Overall, it hasn't been too bad.
Today's plans include finding an extra large dog carton FB marketplace. We now know where Violet has her kittens stashed. Going to bring them all in. The rescue will see that she's spayed and the kittens will go to loving, safe homes. It's going to take a day or so to pull this altogether. Violet has already been treated for fleas. She's due for another dose. That will happen today. I have to pick up some Dr. Elsy's litter and a couple of other doodads too. We'll keep Violet if she is agreeable to being an indoor cat. If not, she can go back to the colony and no more kittens.
Injected fingers are sore but generally OK. My pointer finger redness has all but disappeared. It will probably be a week or more before the steroid really improves things. I looked up the recovery time for a finger joint replacement and it is a year. I'm going to table that until or if it really becomes a big problem.
Leo - I'm glad that you got rain! I love chipmunks. They are cute little things as long as they aren't accessing the inside of your house. I had a GP in CT that had a summer home down on the water. Chipmunks got in and destroyed a lot over the winter. I just saw an article that Germany and Poland are installing tank guards along their borders and fortifying things in general due to Russia's increasing aggression.
Hi Miki - I hope that you have time to get some more rest at some point today. I hope that your dental issues are resolved soon. I'm surprised that it has taken Jackies ex this long too. I'm sorry that you have to listen to any of that.
I hope anyone who is lurking is OK. Waves!
I have laundry as usual today. Yesterday, I managed to change the furnace filter and clean the utility closet along with some other stuff in the laundry room. Dust bunnies be gone. Today, my plan is to clean carpet in the living room. Put insulating film on at least one window and hang the rest of the new drapes. I'll put the room back together in the next day or so.
And, I'm going to try and get my hands on a large dog crate today from FB marketplace. I chatted with a seller yesterday but they weren't particularly helpful or friendly. If they still have it, I may or may not buy it based on the attitude I got yesterday. Still noodling that.
My partner is off to the West side of town to pick up 12 large containers of driveway sealer in a bit. Tomorrow, we go to my brothers to get his lawn mowed.
And, I have to get outside and round up some stuff that is going to the recycling yard this week. It's a good thing that I have time off until Tuesday to get this stuff done.
Everyone have a decent day! Waves!
