Morning everyone. Still feeling pretty terrible...my back is killing me and it's cool and rainy all day. My skin is still acting up, which is annoying the hell out of me. It's still not as bad as it could be, the body wash I bought is definitely helping, but it's so frustrating. And I'm really not looking forward to tomorrow...I'm probably going to hear more disparaging comments about my drinking, or how many cats I have, or god knows what else.
As much as I wish I could just go back to bed, I need to shower, eat breakfast, walk Miki and then go grocery shopping. And I really need to work on burning this weekend, I haven't done any since Monday because I wanted to just finish my gardening endeavors, which I did. I'm not sure if it'll happen though because I'm so damn unmotivated. At least with this good girl I'm forced to go outside a little.

Welcome to the Perseid meteor showers, the "biggies" usually every year. (The Leonids beat 'em one year IMHO).AND today much of the northern hemisphere will see 5 to 99% solar eclipse. How cool is that? Your best bet is to be in the UK or norhtern Spain, where totality is excellent before sundown. Me, I'll get a super duper tiny itty bitty slice of it, so little that it won't be noticeable. New...

Miki, don't you just love how relatives are always so critical? If they aren't offering any help, then they should stay out of it. I'm sorry your back is killing you still. You get a lot done each day, it amazes me. Pretty much everyone I know with fibromyalgia has a type A personality. Did you ever notice that? We tend to go and go till we drop. And oddly we never feel like we're ever caught up. I hope you can find some time to relax this weekend. Thanks for sharing stories and pictures of your pets. They are so cute!
Fantod, yeah weather has been in the triple digits. You would NEVER see this kind of hot weather in Hawaii- we might have a few days in the 90s in the summer, but nowhere close to triple digits. Jack and I went to the pool on his lunch break yesterday to cool off. That young tuxedo sounds like a goof. I love silly cats, they really cheer me up.
JP, I can't believe they let you wait around for hours to get the security code. Ugh! Boy, I do not miss apartment living.
Leo, I hope your stitches are doing well and you are hanging in there.
Jack was offered a new job that pays slightly better than his current job so he accepted the offer and yesterday put in his 2 weeks notice. The trade off to that higher paying job is it will have him split half his week at home and half inperson on base, where his current job is full remote but pays less. At least he's moving up on the pay scale. There is a short time gap between the end of the old job and when the new one starts. But we will be out of country during that time. So he won't be getting paid for about a week, but it is what it is.
I'm making a vegan mango cheese cake today. First attempt ever at a vegan version so whish me luck! Ive had to expand my cooking / baking skills since discovering that I'm lactose intolerant AND wheat intolerant (but not celiacs).
Have a good weekend, all!
I have been out to see cats and back again. Today I picked up the Maine Coon for 3 days. I just love him. Beautiful, and pretty mellow. He needed meds and was very cooperative. The tuxedo was crazy again this morning.
TW - Sad news for me today. I have a friend that I've known since we were 13. We dated in high school and long distance in college. I know his whole family quite well. He is actually a year older than me and was tasked with driving me and a younger brother to drivers ed lol. His wife passed away yesterday after a 20 month battle with a rare aggressive ovarian cancer. There will be a memorial service in the fall which I am going to try and attend. I'd love to see everyone. It's been awhile.
No big plans today other than trying to clean up the pool. I haven't been in it for days due to the weather. And, I haven't had time to really keep up with it either. I guess we are back to hot weather so I will be swimming as time allows and dragging the hose around to keep my gardens from dying.
Miki - Thanks for starting us off today. Cute picture! I hope that Father's Day is not as rough as you anticipate. I'm sorry that your skin is still bothering you. I can relate to back pain...
Hi Blue - Yes, most of us are type A people! That is great that Jack took a new job that pays more. I hope that your vegan cheesecake comes out perfectly!
Off to get the dishwasher sorted and run. I have to vacuum the pool and do some other stuff before I leave again to see the tuxedo.
Shoutout to PuppyMom, AngelaJo, JP, LilMissy, and Milily. Waves!
No thanks to an airline.
So, yeah.
Heat, ice, rest today. The marathon resumes tomorrow.
Puma purrs to everyone :-)
I’ve made my cat sitting rounds for the morning. I have to ho back put later this afternoon.
It’s gorgeous here today. My partner has decided to pressure wash the deck to remove any other debris on it before he rolls the stain on. He’ll probably wash it today and do half of the stain tomorrow and finish on Tuesday.
Not feeling too perky today. A lot on my mind.
I bope that everyone is s le to navigate Father’s Day OK. Waves.
Leo-- Glad you're home.
Blue-- Yeah for Hubby!
Ajoe-- cute fur baby pics !
Fan -- My porch also needs attention. Puppy paws don't do good things.
Miki-- Hope today went OK with the fam.
My FIL has decided to go after my Mom and Uncle. It all started with a delusion by my MIL that he seems to have bought into. She kept insisting that my Mom needed money and was going to ask them. So PD -- in not his finest moment-- blurts out financial info he shouldn't have. No it would seem they are going to try to sue my side of the family for financial benefit. PD actually said, " I would not f--know with the Uncle for anything. If you drag him into court he's coming with the family lawyer and they don't intend to lose." My FIL saw this as a challenge. My side of the family is like. "Eh, let him try. Our paperwork is in line."
The cats have forgiven us. Now we can't get them off us. Yay.
