Hey, all, I gotta keep this one quite brief. I had a great one planned, but I was catted. Raccoon and LilMiss tangled at about 530 AM, she's more or less okay but it's less. (She has her shots and stuff, I do know that.) She was out all night, apparnetly, and a racoon came waddling by. I know what they sound like when they're startled and angry, woke up and shot down the stairs (half-fell) and got the cat before she lost more than composure and fur and dignity and pooped her own fur and peed her fur and me.
And good morning to my weekend.
BLessings on everyone for everyone et cetera and all that, gotta re-check LilMiss's limp see if it's strain or worse.

Welcome to the Perseid meteor showers, the "biggies" usually every year. (The Leonids beat 'em one year IMHO).AND today much of the northern hemisphere will see 5 to 99% solar eclipse. How cool is that? Your best bet is to be in the UK or norhtern Spain, where totality is excellent before sundown. Me, I'll get a super duper tiny itty bitty slice of it, so little that it won't be noticeable. New...

... observed a solar eclipse.

Speaking of rabid animals, there's currently a most likely rabid fox loose in my town. I guess it attacked a few people yesterday afternoon and they're still looking for it. It was on the other side of town yesterday but could make it out here, this isn't a huge town. I'm going to the trails in a different town with my dog later so I shouldn't have any issues with it. Otherwise I'm just tired, I'm seeing my bf later but it'll probably be another early night for me
Today we are going to daughter's house. Our little granddaughter decided she wants grandpa to help her build a wagon for her stuffed animals. Grandpa spent $50 on wagon parts last night....more than a wagon costs. You gotta love grandpas. :o)
I'm going to crochet while I'm there. Standing on concrete in the garage, is not my idea of fun. SIL is going to grill for us. Yay!
My left elbow is killing me today. I could barely wash my hair, it hurt so bad. I didn't hurt it, so I don't know what that is about.
We are taking granddaughter out for breakfast. My daughter and SIL have stuff to do around the house, so they are not coming along. Fun day.
Take care, everyone. Hope you all are feeling better today. Lots of hurts out there.
Ida, oh no... Elbow pain. Big hugs.
Miki, rabid fox attacking people? Yikes!
Leo, my goodness girl, that does not sound like a pleasant awakening at all. I'm so happy our animals are indoor animals...although we did get Izzy and Ruby an outdoor tent thingy. Pudge is spooked by it being outside, inside, she's all cool. And Izzy...she's in heaven....safety and outdoors...happy happy girl.
And I hope you didn't get any scratches and such yourself. Sometimes we don't see them until later because the action is so distracting. And I hope little Miss isn't injured too bad.
Miki, we had a coyote that looked like it was in it's last days several years ago....in our Lexi years. And Lex, being the massive black lab she was nearly dove out our front picture window to get at it. That wouldn't have been good as we have triple pane windows and she wouldn't have survived that at all. Hope your day goes well and you have a good night tonight with your BF.
Ida, your day sounds great. I too get wrapped up in projects. Two years ago Beans wanted to be R2-D2 for Halloween. And the kiddo was stoked. But the simple idea of painting a trash can, turned into a $150 project. Had to have the helmet to keep the lid on, had to install lights, and sounds and well I'm a sucker, I know this. Thankfully last year he just wanted to be a glowing stick man. Super cheap!!!
I'm relishing in the quiet of the morning. And Madame Keurig was kind enough to make me a cup of hot apple cider. (she was my back to school gift and while I was thinking of calling her something else, my hubster came in with Madame Keurig and it stuck). I'm not a coffee drinker, although I have made a few cups because the smell is just heavenly to me. But this little machine will brew cold or hot. And hot apple cider and hot chocolate, and some cold brewed green tea w/ lemon or sweet tea are our favorites here. It's pretty sad when a little machine is the thrill of your home, LOL. But this is us.
Hope all who follow have a great day today. Hugs to all and praying for all of those in Florida or have loved ones in Irma's path.
Miki, I think I'd rather tango with a raccoon than a rabid anything!! I'm glad you are going elsewhere to walk the pup!! Better to be safe than sorry!!
Ida, you enjoy your day with daughter and grand baby! I'm sorry you hurt. That is not a fun way to start the weekend! Try to rest it as much as possible and apply ice if you can tolerate it.
I'm doing as okay as can be expected. A lot of pain in my back and sitting in a severe depression but I'm working on getting through it. I'm holding on by a fraying thread of a promise I made. I almost don't know how to survive this anymore.
Leo the great animal rescue continues. I'm so glad you heard what was going on. I hope she will be perfectly fine.
Miki, enjoy your walk today and I hope you never come across that fox. Have a nice time with your BF.
ida, it sounds like a great day. I hope you enjoy every bit of it and your pain is low.
Wonder, I love the name of your new keurig. I'm so glad you're enjoying it, it's the little things that brighten up our day that can save our sanity.
Precious. I hope the depression leaves soon. I feel the same way on not knowing how to survive this fibro pain and exhaustion anymore. I know one thing is for sure, our kids need us and we must keep pushing through. Hang in there.
My bladder still hurts and I'm going to call the clinic today to see if he can send in something stronger. My toothache isn't as bad but definitely still bothers me. All other pains continue to stick around in full force. I've had so many appointments lately, but I need to see my thyroid doc again. I think it's only been 3 wks but I'm so drained and I want another medicine.
Bear, I'm worried about you and hoping that you have a plan to leave with your son if it comes to that.
I hope everyone has a good weekend, and I'm praying over everyone involved in this storm.
Wonder, ooooh, I like the name!
Twin, yeah, if you're that drained, the doc needs to know! *ships you pumar roar*
Presh, big hugs, okay?

We do not have rabies here in Hawaii. And due to the strict rules, if you bring an outside pet in without 1st following the massively strict guidelines, your pet will end up in quarantine. Many animal breeds have been banned from entering the state completely: snakes, lizards, large cat breeds, wild animals, certain birds, the list is very long.
Poor LilMiss, Leo! What a way to start your weekend. I'm sorry you got peed on :(. Glad you got her to the vet so they can fix her up.
Miki, yikes a rabid fox attacking people?
Ida, sounds like you're having a nice day other than your poor elbow. I hope it feels better soon.
Wonder, never had a Keurig but it sounds like I may want one now lol
Aw, Precious..... depression+ pain, ugh :(. We're here for you, hang in there. One moment at a time. Gentle hugs going your way.
Twin, I hear on the appts. I've had so many I feel like I work a full time job. This past week was the 1st break in back to back appts in a while. But I'll be starting PT soon, so I doubt they will be slowing down. I hope you get some stronger meds and start feeling better soon. You're overdue! Sending strength and healing....
Angela, happy birthday to your mom! Just keep track of your limits. If your body says you have to stop, you should probably rest. There's no pushing through the pain with fibro, remember that. Grand opening of a vet clinic sounds fun!
Well, we found ONE furniture store who carried futons but they were out of our price range. Come on, there has to be another futon store on this island. Pffft! The futon search continues. My back pain was pretty intense when I came home.
My husband had 2 meetings yesterday: one actual faculty meeting, and one faculty party. He came home (after dinner) reeking of alcohol and I couldn't believe he drove home like that. Doesn't he worry about getting a DUI?
My knee brushed the edge of the tub when stepping over into the shower, and I had hoped it would be nothing. But sure enough by the afternoon, my knee was black and blue. I swear, I look like I've been beaten by a bat... and I'll get these all over.
Laundry this morning and we'll see what the day brings. Hubby said the boat is still dry docked today so we have the day. Maybe we'll drive out a country road and pick fruits on wild trees! I've been putting off grocery shopping. Picking wild trees is more exciting lol.
Have a blessed weekend, everyone.
BTW, totally agree, fruit from wild trees beats grocery stores!
LilMiss is okay, got a scratched leg, not much blood but they gave her antibiotics and a rabies booster. She's sleeping in a sunny patch in my back yard. Because, hey, y'know, her owners wenta nd got her and paid the bill and she figured she'd hang out here. Shadow is curled up with her. IT's so cute:-)
