So, I had a fun one last night.
First, I was making UK-style chips for supper and somehow there was a hidden hole inside a chip. One in a million potatoes have it, like, literally. So it blew up. And guess who got 2d degree hot oil burns? Me. Miss Careful. EFFING HELL. After KaBoom (stupid cleaner).... I was in tears of pure frustration. The chips, however, were quite tasty. (Hubby ate the one that hurt me. With malice.)
Anyway, at 11:30 PM, our EBS went off and we had to grab a petrified Dahlia (OW all those CLAWS) and hit our safe room (AKA the storage/everything else in the basement room) b/c.... TORNADO WARNING.
Didn't touch down on us, but I tripped over Hubby so often that you'd think he never went through a drill in his life. Oh, wait. He never does. I run them on my own so at least one of us gets the ....t together. Honestly... I've run through it with him so often, and it's not his first tornado, either, but apparently he forgets training every time. *sigh*
Fortunately, with sophisticated radar (thank you, nerds!) we could track it precisely and know we were at low risk in our particular part of things. (Just doulbe-checked).... Cloud was east of me. That sounds far, but tornadoes are tricky bastards, and the storm we had was still severe. I saw the wall cloud highlighted by lightning. Freaky stuff. And, no, I wasn't looking for it, per se, I was grabbing our storm door and doulbe-latching it so it didn't break.
So, more rain, storms, flooding today.
Yeah. Our drought is busted, fortunately, so there's that. We may soon be growing rice in the mud. Why not? everything else is moving ni, bring it on! Woohooo!
Had a rough night, add in the SLOWEST moving ever fibro trigger weather front (honestly, another full day before it clears...).... Yeah, is it Friday yet? No? ARGH.Hubby's co-worker died of Covid. We found out yesterday. Had me a last straw moment. Hubby hadn't seen him in a long time (obvs, with remote working), but... yeah. guy left a family. (No, he wasn't vax'd.) Stupid. He was only in his...
