Good morning! I slept again. Twice in a row. Must be a Christmas present:-)
That said, it was 2 AM before I slept... But hey! Six-plus hours is always great:-)

And on that note... Hubby's bloodwork wasn't ideal and this Friday we have the Big Talk with his hemo-onco --- almost a year since dx of the rare weird Waldenstrom's --- and then... Well, not to be too delicate, I gotta find out what I have to do for vacines and such to help Hubby's health. Hubby's got to increase the vaccine regimen, just in case, so it's my turn to find out ... And to get a real PCP for a change. Hubby's new one has "passed the test" so far so I'll see if he's taking new patients. He's not my ideal, but he's good, I'll take "good" while it's still working!
It was a hell of a shock to Hubby, btw, to realize he needed to keep more vigilant about his exposures etc... We've gotta be prepared for the worst and hope for the best b/c hey! That's the way it has to be. And yes,t hat's till stressful, but --- breathhing! breathing! ---

Now for this fun link to the UK's Daily Mail. Check out the FBI stats on numbers of solved... and then the rates of unsolved (believed to be unreported as well...) https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6207553/The-majority-U-S-crimes-unsolved-including-4-10-murders-FBI-data-shows.html
It's [pretty weird to think about, isn't it? And yet understandable. ... Shame, fear of reprisal, cultural taboos, there's a sh*t load of factors in not reporting crimes. Also, I want to put in a quick note: The FBI stats don't take into account "We called the cops and they never filled out a form about it so we reported it bu tthe cops ignored us"... Yep.
And now to stop binge-watching true crime shows...

May your day be blessed nad calm.:-)

Got a 20% chance of rain forecast yesterday. Got hit by a t-storm that almost knocked out more tree. This is why I watch animals and not a weather channel.Feeling too worn out to do much today, sorry.
-
OK, I finally got on and it keeps 404ing me more.PURRS from the PUMA and stay safe and sane.
Yay for sleep! I'm glad for it. I overslept a bit this morning myself....
I'm at work, and I have to just accept the futility of it. I'm not going to get everything done today. I have tomorrow and Friday off to bake cookies for a fundraiser for my church.
Tomorrow is my birthday, and yeah, sure I'll spend it baking lots of cookies but some friends have taken the day off work to help me, so it should be fun.
So why is it with this to look forward to I'm still so depressed? I've been having lots of extremely bleak thoughts, and feeling alone. I';m doing the best I can in my battle with my depression, and I have to just accept that sure, I know I have many blessings, but that doesn't mean I can't feel the way I do, and I don't need to add guilt to my emotional baggage. I just feel "stuck", like the clouds will never lift.
Wish you all a great day.
I'll have to look at the crime stats when I get home later. They frown on some of that stuff on these work computers. I stopped watching true crime awhile back because they started to get into my head....barricading the doors at night and all that! Well, maybe not all that but still...
I've been out wandering around trying to figure things out. Lots of tragedy with my friends and family lately...dying, heart attacks, strokes, cancer etc. It's probably just my age group..starting to push 60 fairly hard...which puts me and my friends and family into new and improved groups for all of that stuff. The key is to learn how to deal with everything without anxiety, depression, pain and just all around ummmmm feeling crappy. I'll get it figured out, as we all will, sometime. Anyway, hello to all my friends out here! I'm still kicking!
Kel
Speaking of dentists, I have an appointment later to get my two front teeth drilled out and the fillings replaced. I can't believe that I signed up for this... I'm pretty tired today so I'm hoping that it damps down my anxiety levels. Fingers crossed. If all else fails, I will take a big dose of CBD oil before I go.
My mission today is to resolve a problem with my Kindle which is less than a year old. The battery will not hold a charge and I can't find a replacement for it anywhere. I have to talk to Amazon and I am pretty sure that I put a Square Trade warranty on the device. It really ticks me off that at less than a year, I have to do this.
I will check back later. Shout out to Bear, Susan, Maynard, Milily and JP.
I'm not exactly having a blessed or calm day. I slept but I was jolted awake every time I moved by the excruciating back pain. I will definitely get it checked out at my doctor appointment tomorrow. Bending, kneeling, getting up from sitting down and a few other movements are so painful. Consequently I'm moving too slow today and I was almost late to work. I also brought Nox with me. I got home last night and there was bloody diarrhea in the litter box, and he didn't finish his dinner. Normally he inhales his food then tries to steal from the other cats. This morning he was hiding under a piece of furniture, which is also very weird, so he obviously doesn't feel good. We gave him some fluids, and a few meds to calm down his GI tract. I think this is from the dead mouse I found over the weekend, he must have eaten some of it. I'll offer him some food in a little while. I'm feeling very tired and depressed today
zombie i am sorry your feeling depression, but in case i forget, happy early birthday!
I am really hurting this mroning (mainly my legs, the pressure in my head will go away once the lasix kicks in) i just wish the pain would go away. I have an AA meeting i get picked up at 930 meeting is 10 t0 11 then i have therapy till noon. Mom is going to walmart while im in therapy so i dont have to go with her. my christmas baking is almost done, sugar cookies are left and a bit more angel food candy! Yesterday (sat on a stool to do it) made Peanut butter kiss cookies and dipped the angel food candy thats was made in dark chocolate.
Thinking of Twin today as she undergoes a procedure to figure out what is going on with her GI tract. Sending hugs and lots of support!
Leo, So yah, vaccines are a biggie when you live with someone who has a compromised immune system due to cancer...or compromised anything.
It can really really help. So can swapping out towels for paper towels and such. No live plants in the home. All of those harbor bad things for cancer patients.
I still to this day, spend a small fortune on paper towels. We buy the large packs at Sams club and go through them in about a week. This also produces more trash and etc, but it keeps us healthier AND it's a comfort knowing my mom can be here at any given point.
For the longest time we all got flu vaccines. Because that could have been 100times worse for my mom vs us. But I never had to up my other vaccines at the time. There may be more info out there on that now.
Another biggie...sanitizing sprays/hand bacs stuff. I keep those on me at all times when we're out and about. And lastly, because you don't want to skip on life because someone is sick. We have masks on hand. To either protect the vulnerable one or to contain the sick one. Either or works.
Oh and last but not least....if you have a dishwasher...use it. It heats the water far greater than what comes out of the tap and sanitizes better.
I'm glad you got some sleep. I didn't, but somehow my bod is adjusting well today...so far.
I'm sorry the appointments didn't go as planned. It's hard getting knocked down by some of them. Did the doc suggest any other ways to boost your hubsters numbers?
Zombie, I'm sorry your depression is not letting up any. Do you need me to pull it aside and have a good talk with it? (if only, right?) How about you take my anxiety on a long walk down the pier, and I'll take your depression for a long drive into the woods? Gee, we could hope, right? I think I'm on the same page as you when it comes to accepting it. It's there, it's big, it's ugly, and I somehow manage each day to play hide and seek with it.
And didn't you take days off last year over you B-day to bake for your church? Was that really a year ago now?
I hope today is kind to you...and if you get nothing done...welp, some days we win, some days we just forget about it all.
KEL!!!! Hey, been thinking about you Up Nordt there! Good to see your post today. I'm so sorry to hear about the uglies creeping in on you and your loved ones. We have a saying here in our family. Your either out in the field, up on deck or at bat. Meaning, those who were once older than us are now passing away, each one has it's own position.
As for those crime shows....my hubs loves them too...the detective investigative real stories. Kinda freaks me out, but I figure if he hasn't upped my life insurance policy, then I have nothing to worry about. LOL.
Take care up there.
Fantod, I get so frustrated with electronics. I honestly would have no problems letting mine take a nice long dip in the pond out back. LOL. Sorry your kindle is doing that to you. My phone....is beginning to make me say loud dirty words here. Then again, it keeps reminding me that I haven't updated it in 90 weeks. As if I know how to do that? And how rude to be reminding me.,..quit nagging already!
Hope your dentist appointment goes well. I like your CBD oil idea. I've been considering getting some. I'm still a bit nervous to try it. I shouldn't be...but I'll just point out to exhibit A in my reply to Zombie's post. LOL.
Miki, I sure hope your back issue isn't anything long lasting. It's so hard when we throw our backs out. Seems like they take forever to feel better again. And I'm glad you could bring Nox in to keep an eye on him and help him to feel better.
Angela, Sounds like all of your treats are ready for Christmas! I too have a stool I use. Over the weekend, I really needed it with making that many caramels! Hope your meeting goes well for you today and you feel better too.
So when I crawled into bed last night I was so happy thinking about having this day here at the house. No running, I could clean the boys bathroom and put up the new shower curtain and rugs/towels I got for in there and then I got a call. I need to run my mom, along with all of those caramels to meet with her friends. There goes my day to work on things here. But on the other hand, I can get some more shopping done? I'm trying hard to find the positive...LOL. But it will all work out. It always does.
On another note...I found a recipe for some limonccello crackle cookies! (Squeal)....I love lemon crackle cookies...so the limonccello is gonna rock!
Okay, off to go get dressed...look semi human....play Uber....Toodles!
Leo, yay for sleep! Sorry hubby has to get more vaccines. It sounds like he's doing well a year after diagnosis. I'm sure you guys will get a routine down on all the dos and don'ts.
I see my PCP today for the ongoing neck pain from the drug store accident.
I may also need to stop by the SS office. Remember when I had to track down my father's death certificate as proof to SS of his death? And then my siblings and I had to fill out survivor's forms? Well one of my brothers got a letter back telling him that my identity could not be verified as being related to my father. Are you kidding!
I'm in the mood to bake something later, either gluten free brownies or peanut butter cookies. Maybe I'll do both!
Back shortly.
Kel so good to see you. I am sorry you are having to deal with so many things right now. Loss and illness is never easy but I think as we age it becomes more a focus. We realize our mortality and the reality of illness as we get older. Hugs and prayers.
Zk I am praying that your depression would lift. It is so hard to feel happy when depression is holding us hostage. I hope you can find little joys in spite of it to help you through.
Miki I really hope you will go to the doctor. I am worried that this accident has done something to your back that needs help. I am glad you took Nox in with you today. It is good to have him checked and it sounds like he is receiving the best care.
Angela so much candy. I can't imagine how you are keeping your bs under control with all of that. I couldn't make it and not try it out lol.
Wonder I am sorry that your quiet productive day has turned out to be busy with your mom. The house will be there when you are able and ready to do it. I hope your time out will be good.
I have a crack in my front tooth but want to wait until after Christmas to get it filled. I have to be off some of my meds for a week before and with Christmas so close I can't afford to do that.. I will be around too many people Christmas day and need what immune system I have. I am working on cleaning and finishing a project today. I also need to wrap gifts. The song run run Rudolf is playing reruns in my head. Guess I better get started.
Hi to Ida, Blue and Twins. Have a good day.
Just wanted to drop a hug by.
Aloha, Kel! I'm so sorry for the sad newses (plural) lately... I pray many Christmas blessings come your way to bring happiness, hope and health. Hugs
Fantod, yikes, good luck at the dentist! At least you'll have a new smile for Christmas, right?
Miki, Oh, poor Nox. I hope it's nothing serious. Post an update when you can. Hugs
Wonder, sorry to hear your stay-at-home day turned into an errands day! I hate when that happens. Fingers crossed it's not too busy, though.
I like all the baking you do, Angela. Really wish we were neighbors and could bake all day together, especially now that I'm on break :). Enjoy and don't over do.
Autumn, good luck finishing your project, it's always nice to get one completed. Hi back at yah!
Hey, Aspie! Hugs
Hugs and prayers going Twins way....
Ok... I think I'll get started on those brownies.
A special hello to ZK, Kel, Fantod, Miki, Angela, Wonder, Blue, Autumn, and aspie. I wish you all well and feel bad for the tough things you are all going through.
In the sleet, I went to bible study and no one was there and the door was locked. No one told me it was canceled. I did go get a few groceries , and went home.
My mom’s surgery is next week. Aggressive melanoma and they are waiting two weeks. I just don’t get it. It’s got me down, even though there have been problems between she and I in the past. I hate to see her in so much anxiety.
Tonight is Advent service in our church. It starts at 4:30, so we will be home early.
Love to all who follow. Take care.
