Seriously:
How many of you will admit that you have gotten angry or hurt and have left this board and then came back?
I know a lot who have, including me. Wanta know why? Because we are emotional woman. We hurt, were depressed etc. and those things will either make us lash out or be hurt sometimes.
So, you leave. For good this time! So you say, until tomorrow comes and you wish you hadnt been so rash, you might make it two days,---and gosh I miss DS, --if you manage 3 days you come back with apologies on the 4th asking to be except back, and apologizing.
We just cant stay away. And we know were going to get hurt again. We know were going to get mad again. We know we should avoid certain negative posts. Its either curiosity that we read those negative posts or its to defend a friend. Inevitably someone get s mad or hurt, threatens to leave and then comes back a few days later.
Its a cycle, over and over again.
Can it be broken? Probably not, because there are too many people who all have different opinions. And sometimes those opinions clash.and the fight is on yet again!!
If you are new here to DS and to this community, I want to warn you:
This is the way it is and this is the way it will always be.
The reason is because we become a family. Strange as it may seem, we really do become a family. For example; Ill pick on Leslee for this example; her and I did not get along. But I could not stand by and let her be wrongly accused or bashed by a troll, because she is part of this family that we have become. If she left, I would miss her because again, she is a part of this group, our family.
Just like any family who has quarrells so does this family, uh a bit more maybe J but quarels all the same.
We hate each other and we love each other.
I left and went to the depression board. Intending to never come back here again. I did pretty good. But through the grapevines I would hear, so and so said this or that to so and so on the Fibro board; and Id find my butt traipsing right back to this community, after all, one of my family members was being assaulted!
Im not going to lie either.I missed my family and I had to drop by, unannounced to check on everyone. Then I would stay gone for a few days.
It is absolutely amazing how you can grow such close personal relationships with people online. So if you are new, expect this to happen. The love and support are here. There are good people here. But you also better expect diversion and chaos once in a while. But I promise you, if you stick around long enough youll understand what I mean about becoming a family. It becomes a special bond and you are addicted!
I guess this letter is not only for the newbies to understand but for the Fibro family to remember what we mean to each other in the end.
Although, with all this said, We as a family should work a little hard at respecting one another and not jump the band wagon so quickly.

I wouldn't stay away if I missed it - I just didn't. I have never considered leaving this board - guess I'm too stubborn to let anyone else have that power over me.
I have friends here that I believe will be friends for life - it IS amazing how you can grow these close friendships with people online.

Okay, I was not going to say anything and it was going to be our secret, BUT you opened the door, sooooooo you asked for it, and can't complain now that I am telling everyone that YOU Forgot to Mention that You, My Dear, are my roomie and I got the right side of the room, so that my back can be against the wall, and so that I can watch the door all the time, and when the nurse bursts into our room, and the door bangs my feet, which will knock my head up against the wall, I will get the sense knocked into me and be ALL BETTER...........but you will still be nuttier than a fruitcake.
(now was that the best, run on sentence, you have read in a long time, or what?)

We are FMily and we will not get along all the time but the fact is we always do come back because this place makes us feel no so alone in the world...V
