It's gonna be another gross day with rain/thunder this afternoon...but I'm watching Nox play with Haco and that always warms my heart.
Nox was my first hoarding cat...once he got comfortable he actually became pretty bold, and he would kinda bully the others. The girls shut that down real quick, but Noah was too nice and he got most of it. When I went to adopt a new cat after Noah passed, I didn't think I wanted a shy/undersocialized cat (or a kitten for that matter, originally), partially because I was worried Nox would bully that cat too, and partially because I didn't know if I could handle that plus the holidays. So I decided to just look for a flame point cat through a shelter because I've always wanted one but don't want to go through a breeder. That's what led me to Haco, his personality seemed like he'd be good with other cats and Miki. I didn't actually know he was a hoarder cat until I got there (they chose applicants based on who is a good fit for the animal instead of first come/first served, and the application had a lot of questions on how you would handle certain medical or behavioral issues, so I think that's how I got picked), but I saw him interact with a bunch of other cats and he was confident without being either passive or aggressive so I figured he could handle Nox, and I'm a sucker for animals with shitty backgrounds so I decided I could handle him. Once I got him and the other cats somewhat used to each other I realized I had nothing to worry about with Nox. He got to the point where he and the other cats can coexist, but I never saw him show any affection towards them, until Haco. I literally cried a little.when I saw him groom and play with Haco the first time. And I know it's probably a coincidence that they're my 2 hoarder cats, but I love that they have this bond. Or bromance, as I often call it. Nox is good with Skadi too, but they don't have the same bond as the boys do. I'll never know exactly what clicked in Nox's little head but damn it's adorable. And it distracted me for a few minutes from having to work with Karen and then rushing to the NH office for the afternoon...
So I leave you guys with photographic evidence of the bromance, and hope it gives you the same warm and fuzzy feeling it gives me.

Welcome to the Perseid meteor showers, the "biggies" usually every year. (The Leonids beat 'em one year IMHO).AND today much of the northern hemisphere will see 5 to 99% solar eclipse. How cool is that? Your best bet is to be in the UK or norhtern Spain, where totality is excellent before sundown. Me, I'll get a super duper tiny itty bitty slice of it, so little that it won't be noticeable. New...

Finally getting an opportunity to check in. Busy taking care of all kinds of matters that go with a move, catching up with work, restoring files from an eviscerated laptop. Fun times, for sure.
I've got to get a mattress in here. My stubbornness in putting off getting one due to cost has led these now defunct air mattresses atop a cot and using mattress toppers instead has led to a giant knot on my right hip where the bar for the cot is. I was wondering why my low back hurt so much. UGH. There goes my denial that I actually have fibromyalgia, psoriatic arthritis, and have been in 4 car accidents! Yikes. Denial has never gotten me anywhere.
Had my follow up with my neck injection. Steroid was not enough but it has to follow low back ablation and screaming high thoracic and mid thoracic inverted herniation injection. Very good physician assistant. Great at listening and helping me narrow down what next steps to take which include getting my behind to physical therapy. I also need to go to neurosurgeon for a review of my case to see if surgery would either be recommended or improve my situation.
UGH,, to find motivation when my tinnitus is screaming so loud in my ears I cannot even hear myself think!!! Hope y'all have a great day.
Thanks for the check in Miki. Your cats are lovely!
Miki, nox is lije my tortie. Once adapted, had to rule!

Miki, thanks for sharing this story and posting a picture for visualization. It definitely warms my heart. I love little snuggle-bunnies; they are my favorite!
Leo, hoping you can take it easy and your pain calms down.
JP, I don't know how you've slept on a cot that long. Can someone from Thumbtack or Task rabbit help you dig your mattress out?
Hubby is almost done setting up cameras for security system. We got a closed circuit system (hard wired) and not wifi so it can't be hacked by snoops, creeps or robbers. Yesterday he dug a ditch in the backyard to bury one of the cables for a camera posted up in a tree, and accidentally cut our internet cable. So AT&T was out here all day dealing with it.
Meanwhile my mom blew up my phone all day; I was too busy to answer so she thought she'd keep ringing and texting till I finally did, which wasn't till dinner. Her issue was she wanted me to order groceries for her because the senior shuttle was full. She called and texted like the end of the world is here and she will die unless I pick up the phone. By afternoon her texts were complaining that she was out of food and hypoglycemic. And her final text said, "Never mind. I ordered Papa John's pizza, ill be fine." (Face palm)
I really don't understand what goes through her head. First of all, stop acting like it is the end of the world. I can't stand that. And second, pizza is not a good solution for hypoglycemia. (Double face palm)
In other news, we will have no water tomorrow and Friday. Plumbers are coming to move water heater to attic and swap it out from electric to tankless gas. While here they also will install a water softener. I asked my baby brother if we could crash at his house, but he said no. So not sure what to do. I suppose I could ask my older brother in Austin, but that's a bit of a drive.
My shoulders, neck and back hurt...and I'm always tired.
That's all I got. I hope everyone is having a good day!
My Dr said i am so exhasuted from having all those infections. Also it was all in a 3 month period. My body is worn out and trying to fully heal. At least i am UTI free right now and free from all infections. I get everyday where i just can not keep my eyes open and have to sleep. Last night i kept dozing off eating dinner. Even Matt says i never get like this. I get like this in the car and mom said i get where im so tired i sound like im drunk (slurring my words) but she knows im not drunk im 10 1/2 years sober. And its only when i been dozing off. Once i drink or eat something or get some fresh air i wake up and am fine. My Dr said between being sick so much plus having chronic fatigue its just too much right now so my body is DEMANDING i rest. Problem is last night i feel asleep early right after dinner for 2 hours then im up for several hours before i can go back to sleep. Today i cancelled therapy becuase i could not stay awake and she totally understood and told me not to worry about it just to rest and shell see me on zoom monday instead. I am glad shes so understanding. Also my Dr said my sugars being a lot higher than my norm can cause a lot of fatigue, its stressing my body out more. Trying to figure out how much fast acting insulin i still need with the higher dose of victoza, it takes time to get it all right. Victoza will drop my sugar too low if i take too much fast acting. I hate being diabetic it is a pain. Everyone tells me how i am such a good diabetic and do what i need to no matter what and how i make it seem not hard to do. It IS hard its exhausting! I have to check anything i eat i have to figure out how much insulin i need based not only what im eating but also where my sugars at i need to control the highs and the lows and when im sick its all off even more so and steroids? Dont get me started on steroids! UGH i pray i get the dexcom CGM so i dont have to keep poking my fingers! PLus it would give me so much more control it also says if your sugars on its way up or down. I feel like i could sleepfor a month.
My 4 fur babies make life so much better, all the snuggles etc. The puppies for being 6 months old are very well behaved, the only thing that drives me nuts is when they both want the same bone or toy and the one who doesnt have it keeps barking in the high pitched small breed puppy squeeky voice LOL Espeially when i have a migraine. They are such sweet snuggle bugs too! They also love to compete to see who can give the most kisses the fastest if both are on me LOL They are just so sweet. Abby our 12 yr old dog (her birthday was a week ago today) Had her birthday party on Sunday and got spoiled rotten LOL
I also lost another 12 pounds which i will not complain about at all. I mean i do try to eat healthy but other wise have not been trying to lose (not allowed to exercise not even to do PT right now due to how severe my back is) so the fact i keep losing is due to being sick lately. Also have very little appetite.
My partner worked on the deck today. It went pretty smoothly so he didn’t lose his mind lol. There was a fair amount of rotten wood. He may find more when he starts dragging furniture and grills around. Rain tomorrow so he has a break. Picking up the sander on Friday and spending the day get the deck prepped. He is busy on a different project Saturday. The stain will probably go on Sunday or Monday.
I’m on my phone. Pretty tired. I hoe that everyone had a decent day.
Puppy kisses are the best aren't they?!!!
Blue, my mattress is at the very back of the largest unit they have. It's for 3/2 house & it's stacked to the rafters so it will cost me about $1000 after hiring enough guys to uncluttered it with my new helper/assistant/cleaner to supervise and get the bed put together. Labor rates in Austin are ri-
Diculous! Plus have to pay for a truck. I cannot find an easy solution unfortunately and today's talk with disability was not encouraging. She alluded to it not going through as she didn't have me send the financial information they were previously requested. Decision in a week or so.
