1&2 check their vitamin D and B levels alot of us are low in these areas.
the third is do a sleep study. Alot of us have problems with the different stages of sleep and sleep apnea. Some benifit from the use of cpap machines. I have alot of face pain so I use oxygen when I sleep.
And 4 Lyme diasese by a Lyme specialist.
There are other things that should be tested for.
Sorry I have no experience with lyrica

It hasn't had any effect on my fibro symptoms one way or another.
Yes, I had a sleep study and so far I've found out I'm allergic to silicone which is the primary ingredient in the (5 different ones I've used so far) masks and the clothe mask (currently using) hurts my nose so much that I can't sleep with it; but rheumy won't refill ambien script and said to have sleep dr. refill it; sounds manipulative, doesn't it? But then again rheumy adamantly says that cpap machine will help with insomnia thereby lessening fibro pain and possibly put my fibro into remission. Her words, not mine. So, at 11 p.m. I'm still awake, still in pain and crying because I'm just so uncomfortable and the mask hurts my nose. The jury is out on whether the breathing machine helps me.
What's working for me? Ambien for sleep; oxycodone for pain, nexium for acid reflux, Cymbalta for pain and Wellbutrin for depression and xanax for anxiety attacks. I still have pain and exhaustion ALL days but at different levels.
There is NO cure for fibro/cfs; heck they don't even know what causes it. I actually had a doctor tell me that they think it's from a carb overload!! Seriously!!??? I feel (my opinion) is that you need to treat each individual's separate fibro symptoms because what works for me might not work for someone else. And you need to find out what works for your pain and fatigue and other symptoms to function on a daily basis. This is our lives now.
Unfortunately, we're the new guinea pigs of the medical field and have lost control over the say and treatment of our bodies in fear of losing doctors or even health insurance.
In trying "to be nice" I re-read this post and re-word some things so I wouldn't appear too negative but informative. I hope I succeeded but if not, just send me a "hug" and tell me why ok.
Take care, Mare
