I do not know where to start UGH can i please scream now? My mom and dad got my nephew on Sunday afternoon, a little back story is my brother no longer has vistation except supervised for 2 hours at a time, he has been abusing my nephew in more ways then one and there are charges the state filed against him for child abuse, why he sees him even supervised i have no clue. Well my mom told me a couple hours after she got him he will NOT listen for anything, not even bribing him works, and he wants everything at the store (mom spoils him but not THAT much) Well last night we went out for dinner and it wasent fast food so he needed to sit and behave we went out with 5 other people, i swear this kid is ADHD (my mom, my brother, my sperm donor all are and im add but his mom doesnt get him tested and shes an RN) he cant sit still for anything. when we finally got out of there we stopped at shopko, he does NOT listen in the store and just runs off and hes never been like this before so i think the abuse really has affected him a lot, and finally my mom took him to the car and dad and I checked out and the lines were awful but dad was confused with the coupon so i had to wait with him. FINALLY the service desk said they could take small orders so we went up there. BTW attaching a photo mom got me a fidget spinner to help with my anxiety and its so cute. She surprised me with it yesterday. In the car we stopped to get me a diet coke at mc donalds drive thru and isaiah and dad got cones, i had to have caffeine at this point my head was pounding. Isaiah would not stop talking and wanted two cones etc hes 9 and the size of a 6 or 7 yr old nad doenst eat much but he watns everything HIS way, finally got him his ONE cone and he was happily eating away until my parents dropped me off. I am in SO much pain i barely slept once again from the restaurant and the store, and i havnet even been able to take my shower yet and i use a shower chair. I cant take this pain :( I want to spend time with my nephew, i feel bad for him, but i dread it too because he doesnt listen this time. I am suppose to go to my parents when they get home from the wallace zoo later and i feel like putting it off until tomorrow. What would you guys do? He will still be there tomorrow but maybe my pain will be down. My depression and anxiety are so bad today i just want to stay home too. I am having urges to cut but i wont do it i have my phone numbers etc.

Today (August 8) is INternational Cat Day. Don't click away! International DOG day is August 26! Both were created to raise aweareness and funds for the well-being of critters. We have many such dayts, to the pint that every day is like an old Catholic saints' day calendar: Take your pick!I'm home, obvs, and still ill. Left calf and foot not great after a tangle-fall, but i'll live. Just can't...

I'nm exhausted. This doxycycline thing has ripped me apart and I'm eating crackers and water. I can't take (anything) or eat (anything) except saltines and toast and maybe unbuttered watery mashed potatoes. Are we sure the cure isn't worse than the possible disease?!?!And a week to go. ***Fun cures that WERE worse than the disease:ARsenic. Popular against STDs, which just compounded misery...

My best advice is to skip the zoo, skip doing the "fun stuff", and stay home instead. Whatever time you spend with him...let HIM lead. Join him in what he's doing. Cut down on choices. Use distraction over discipline.
I took that kid that got suspended from kindergarten, and turned him into a 17 year old honor student, with a part time job, and volunteers as a fire fighter.
You will NOT get there with discipline...although almost all of the "expert" advice will tell you that you need to double down on it.
***Put another way. We don't start spanking 2 day old babies in order to teach to potty train. Nope, we change their diapers, and eventually they'll want to learn themselves. It's the CONNECTION to others...that's the motivation. Most "discipline" will destroy that. (Some of the kids my son used to play with went that direction..it's not pretty.)***
I'm off the thread. My post is probably going to be unpopular. Feel free to PM me...I've been through it.
