You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
hey just updating everyone on the new FM group I'm trying to start here in HAwaii. I got this email and wanted to share it with all of you:
Here's what we are going to do now.
I am going to have you apply for a grant from the Center for Citizen Leadership. We haven't had anyone do this yet...so there is not a exact procedure in place. If you will work with me, we can not only get you funding and aid, but we can also establish a new method of providing help to people like you who have great ideas.
I am about to travel to St. Louis to meet with all the leadership from my organization. I will bring you up and we will talk about how we can award these types of grants. I should come back with some answers. In the meantime, I want you to be gathering any and all expenses that you might incur as you begin this support group. Shoot for the moon on this one. Throw in anything that could help you. I am not promising that you will receive finding for everything...but it never hurts to ask. If you know the approximate price, then include that too. When I return, we will get all the prices together, and then prioritize your list.
Have patience. We will make this happen! Get back to me with any questions.

I also wanted to share with everyone that I now have a place set up for the meetings to take place and it won't cost anything. I plan to have a group meet once a week, and once a month have a group activity, for ex the beach. I will also be having guest speakers come and talk to the group ex: docs that treat FM and any new research done, hopefully once a month as well.
i'm so happy!!!! YAYYYYY!!!!! THIS IS HAPPENING!!! So if anyone of you come to my island, you are for sure invited to tag along and be part of the group! Hopefully we can eventually get funding for trips for any of you to come visit!!!! WHOOOOHOOO!!!!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...

There is a place on the National Fibromyalgia Association website where you can register your support group, so that anyone who goes there will see there is a group in your area.
I've gotten a ton of referrals to my group from NFA, and even been invited to apply for a scholarship to a conference for support group leaders. I'm waiting to hear if I was selected - they promised an answer by 6/23.

I know that here at the VA in Minneapolis, they have support groups that meet there...free of charge also. You have some great ideas.
