This is meant to be a repository of EVERYTHING written, g ood or bad or whatever, be it journal article or book or study,mm and many recordz sof government. So, if you didn't dislike the Brits? They torched the books. Grr. Granted, Thomas Jefferson donated his personal library to start the thing, but still. Bad to burn books. IMO
HAPPY BIRTHDAY NATIONAL PARK SERVICE in the US, established today in 1916. NPS aso leads the environmental caring stuff, not just cleaning up parks or taking fees (nominal in many areas) for entry. They also arrest criminals and help rescue people, so they're kinda the coolest, IMO. (Yes, I wanted to be one in my childhood.)

Today I learned that NH finally passed a law they've been talking about for 2 years, that says vet techs need to be certified to perform certain tasks. I knew it was going to include anesthesia monitoring, but apparently it also includes things like assisting with xrays, placing IV catheters and drawing blood-which is a little extra, IMO. It makes sense with anesthesia, but clinics are really gonna be scrambling now that it basically includes everything techs do? Getting certified involves passing a huge test that costs $300+ each time you take it, graduating from an accredited school, etc. A lot of good technicians have been doing this for 10+ years without being certified because it's never been a requirement-it helps pay wise and with finding a job, some clinics require it but there's never been a law. I'm certified in Massachusetts so I'm gonna apply for reciprocity in NH, which you wouldn't think would be a big thing, but it is. I started this last year but the total cost for everything I need is like $150 and I didn't have the extra money. Now it's not ideal but it's doable. I need to track down my college transcripts (from a college that has since closed), my exam score etc-from 15 years ago, then download a copy of my current CVT certificate (which alone should be proof that I graduated from an accredited school and passed the exam). But this law takes effect in 2 months, so I need to get on it. Somehow, sending archived electronic exam scores takes 15 business days minimum and costs $90...unless I get the "premier" experience for $220 -_-
