Morning everyone. It's going to rain again today and I'm still really sore from the race. And I have to work 41 hours in the next 4 days, someone is on vacation so I'm working Thursday. I got all my lunches made for the week yesterday and cooked food to reheat for dinner, and met bf after he got out of work to pick up the door I ordered. I let it dry and started painting it too, since I won't have much time this week for it and I'd like to get it hung on the weekend. I also started one of the portraits, I'm not making them very big since I'm working off a tiny reference photo so they won't take long. I didn't get as much time to rest as my body would have likel but unfortunately yesterday was the only day this week I'll be able to get anything done. Oh and yesterday was the unofficial birthday I gave Miki. Her adoption paperwork said she was 2-3, so I called her 2 and a half and now I get to celebrate her twice a year :)
I hope everyone has a good Tuesday!

I'm alive, I'm sleeping like a rock, and for some reason I wanted cherry juice so that seems to be helping. (??? Weirdo that I am.)***Infamous therapies over history:1. The Attic. The madwoman in the attic is a motif in literature going waaaaaay back: the nutty female relative is locked in the attic. (See: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte for a grotesquely racist version of it, and Charlotte Perkins...

Welcome to the Perseid meteor showers, the "biggies" usually every year. (The Leonids beat 'em one year IMHO).AND today much of the northern hemisphere will see 5 to 99% solar eclipse. How cool is that? Your best bet is to be in the UK or norhtern Spain, where totality is excellent before sundown. Me, I'll get a super duper tiny itty bitty slice of it, so little that it won't be noticeable. New...

armworst since surgery
have to still do housework cooking etc and all with one arm, and my wrong one to boot... me peeling carrots = comedy!
Fibro has meant living with pain so much I do not think Hubby realizes how bad this is. Well, how dare we cope, right? *headdesk*
hugs!!!
My dad is coming up to take some of the tree and dropping stuff off in the house. Cue the anxiety...I replaced the doorknob on the back door on Saturday, and with the new one you have to unlock it to open it from the inside, so he can't lock me out a second time (he did last summer when he checked something in the backyard and locked the door-I only locked the deadbolt so I wouldn't lock myself out). I also now have an extra key hidden so I can get in if need be. But he can still let Nox out of the bathroom (he has done that too) or lock another cat in with Miki or God knows what else. I can't wait for this damn tree to be gone!
Leo, I can't believe your husband isn't helping you! I'm sorry your arm is feeling worse and praying you feel better soon.
I didn't do anything big yesterday, just putzing around the house doing little things. My back was killing me even though the rain was gone. Today it's feeling better, so maybe I can get some Tai Chi done today. I see my therapist this morning which is always a meh thing. It could be a good day or a bad one depending on what comes out in our session. I'm crossing my fingers it's a good one today.
Hugs to both of you and everyone else who comes on later!
Miki, Ugh, weeks like that just seem to drag on. I used to think of the paychecks! It was my biggest motivator.
I'm sorry you also have to deal with your dad coming over. While it's nice he's there to help you out, it sucks that he doesn't care about how you prefer your thing and animals to be. It's a big lack of respect.
Leo....now girl, why are you messing with carrots like that? I'd put it simple for my hubby...either you help prep (the night before, peeling/washing, etc) OR I buy it done for us. Which means bag of carrots went from $1 to $7! And times that by all of the other ingredients.
OR my making dinner would be making reservations/calling for delivery.
I don't know about your hubby, but mine only has a threshold of me being down for 3 days. At day 2 he starts to loose his cool a little, by 3, he's yelling at the kids. So then I start yelling and well, I don't like to yell. ...so by day 2, I get up and get things going. Regardless of how down I am. Everything else though, he's an amazing guy. So I don't even like complaining about this.
Pained, Sorry your back was causing you grief yesterday. I have at times thought about getting a back brace for these really bad days. I wonder if they would help any? I hope you can get your Tai Chi done today. And your appointment with your therapist goes well.
Tonight we take Sarge in for training. I thought he was going to need a boot camp like training, but nope, just once a week stuff here. He will get trained with a vibration collar. And I think that will help him some. And I have been taking him out off leash to the back yard. He got in the pond once with my hubster (even though he was on a leash at that time). Sarge is definitely holding true with being a "water /hunting breed". But with me, out back, I keep a pocket of little tiny treats and he runs back to me when I call him. He's so food motivated! Funniest trick he's picked up, since we were potty training him, has been he finds all of Tank's 'bombs' out back and then he runs back to me to get his treat. I think I inadvertently trained him to be a poop locator. LOL.
Well, I better go get the kiddos up and going. My quiet morning has come to an end.
Hope everyone has a great day today. Hugs to all!
Leo, I'm really glad you are able to post a little each day, but I"m so mad at your hubby. It sounds like mine. You need to ask for more help so you can heal properly and fast. Hugs
Angela, I hope your gout gets better, I'm sorry you had to get the medicine for it.
Wonder and Maynard, I hope your tummy's are better today. I can't believe activa helps you so much Wonder. I've never tried it.
I just started a list of everything I need to do before my surgery, which I only have 2 more weekends to do it and I'm stressing. My depression is still really bad from my rough weekend and this awful pain.
I hope everyone has a good day.
I am so sick from the gout meds, nauseated and severe IBS-D but i have to stick it out i cant take the pain. Not feeling good at all right now. Pain is not good either but the gout pains worse than the fibro even though we been having tons of rain, now the temp dropped from 60 yesterday to 30s today and snow on the way thursday and friday.
Miki you have way too much on your list of to do's. I am sure you are sore from the run but d*mn girl you did it! I hope your dad can get everything done that he plans on doing so you don't have to fret over him being there again and again.
Leo ASK your hubby to help! You need to take it easy and not over work that arm. At the least order in so you don't have to try to cook. I hope the pain lets up soon.
PainedOne I am glad you are feeling a little better today. Take is slow and easy with the Tai Chi and you will be glad you did it.
Wonder taking Sarge in for training should be lots of fun. You sound like you have lots of experience already getting him to do what you want. I hope you have a good day.
Twins writing the list may seem daunting now but once you start seeing the list get done your anxiety should start going down. Just tell yourself that once you have the list done you will be ready to start feeling better. Hugs
I got the dusting, windexing and bathroom done yesterday. I am sore today so far but not in as much pain as I have been these past weeks, The sun is shining this morning but rain will come in later today. Have I said I'm sick of rain yet? At least as long as it is raining it isn't Summer yet and I hate Summer worse than anything. I am going to work on my drawings today and make dinner but that's about it.
I hope you all have a good day.
Happy Birthday, Miki :). How cute. I can't believe you did all that work on your one day off. I hope you can get a couple extra days off soon to recoup. I know how it feels, though, I don't think I ever get one day off from the week to relax. 7 days a week I'm going and going. It gets old.
Leo, not only is your dominant arm broken, but you're in severe pain. Shame on your husband... I'd be serving him canned food till he decides to help out.
So, for a couple of days now I've tried other food besides the chicken and white rice diet (eg: GF pancakes, tofu and vegetarian dish, pork meatballs and dairy free mashed potatoes, avocado, papaya, etc) and my stomach is back to being completely miserable again.
I guess while I'm out, I'll have to pick up some chicken and go back to the diet. I see the nutritionist today at the VA via telehealth video (their version of skype). At this point I don't know what she can do for me if everything out there makes my gut upset. I'll also be multitasking and bring a load of laundry to wash, and my books and laptop to continue working on my paper as I wait for laundry.
back in a bit
Wonder, Sarge is a funny guy! At least he's a happy pup lol. At least your husband lasts 2 days... mine gets grumpy if I'm down for the afternoon.
Twins, just prioritize each day and do one thing at a time so you don't overwhelm yourself. If it doesn't get done, it can be saved for another day. I hope Mr. Dingbat helps you get ready, too. I think you're off to a good start though by listing things.
Angela, I'm so sorry for how sick you feel. I will pray for some relief.
Autumn, I totally get being sick of the rain! I, too, am looking forward to some dryer weather.
Pretty achy today. We were 70+ degrees yesterday and around 50 today. Between having to sit and type and the weather I feel not so hot.
Got to run and get a couple of errands addressed. I just wanted to wave at everyone. Leo - I am going to smack Mr. Leo! He needs to help! I know that he is a menace in the kitchen but surely he can do some stuff to help you out. Shout out to Maynard, Bear and Milily! Everyone hang in there....
i asked hubby to buy pprechopped, we can get that at one store here, but... no. i asked why he will bring me tea but noy cut veg and he looked stupid as heck... "But you folded the laundry",,,
Uh... and it took me 2 hours!
sleeping today
wish you could nap with me!!!
I'm not sure I can reply to everyone today. My body is giving out more and more as this day drags on. I am trying not to take the tramadol so I tried advil which did absolutely nothing. The IBS-C refuses to calm down so it won't let the fibro calm down either. In so much pain I'm nauseous. I'm debating joining LA Fitness (a gym chain in my area) since I have a coupon and they have a pool, hot tub and sauna on top of the gym just for the hot tub and sauna and maybe the pool. IDK I hate to spend the money and commit to it just to not use it. As it is I spend 2 hours a day commuting with work so anything additional and I may as well just go home straight to bed.
Leo I agree with Miki, use your good arm to smack some sense into hubby!
Sending hugs to all.
Autumn, My mind is going so much I can't wait to get home and get one thing scratched off my list. LOL. It's so hard doing anything during the week though by the time we get dinner, shower, homework or read, and I'm done. I'm glad your pain seems more tolerable today. I hope it stays there.
Blue, he only cleans the outside with mowing. I'm on my own for cleaning inside. I'm sorry your stomach is such a bother still. I really wish they would figure out something.
