Good morning:-)
Today we skip therapy. Today... We RANT! WOOOOOOO HOOOOO!
Why? B/c my therapist po'd me so much yesterday I came *this* close to quitting. And I know how bad a spot I'm in. I don't share it on the board, but... let's just say Hubby is making sure he hides sharp pointy pretty objects. If one more therapy-minded person "helps" me by saying "It gets better" or "Worry what is, not what if", or my new favorite, "It wont' be that bad" as if I'm a small kid getting her first flu shot and need a lollipop to survive the ordeal... I'm gonna blow. I mean *kerblooie*. I'm talking Mount Saint Helens got nothin' on this puma.
Why? Because everyone telling me it's gonna be okay is... And this is not directed at anyone here, btw... A. White. Man. With. Good. Job. Oh my heavenly hosts. Healthy. White. Male. Employed at good job with benefits. Gee, why would I think they don't grasp that a paritally disabled PTSDer who is unemployed and *female* and not considered white enough for the UK would ever worry?! BTW, that last is sadly true. Called about visitor visas and the person asked me about my ethnicity, and I was like, "AMerican," and they pushed, and I said, "Fine, my mom's Polish, I've a bit of her accent when I'm upset like I am now," and I was told, "Well, I'm only trying to help, but your sort finds trouble these days." My *sort*? Someone who wanted to next year celebrate her 25th wedding anny by seeing Hubby's ancestral Scottish hometown like he's wanted to for years? Yep. My *sort*. Well, up yer arse, luv, I don't want *your* sort, how's that? *snort* *growl* *huff*
See? A good rant relaxes your muscles! Emotional release, even thru tears, btw, can alter chemical balances in the body. Emotion-tears are proven to be laden with tons of hormones and biochemicals, versus "dust in the eye" tears, which are nearly pure saline. Emotion-driven crying reall *does* make you feel better. Freaky, isn't it? My Hubby, since learning this, btw, now calls emotional tears "eye pi$$". Thanks, Hubby, love ya, but OMG... *headdesk* He has this hyena laugh when he thinks it's incredibly hilarious, whatever "it" is, and my face is pretty much... Well, here's a link:

Today in history, after Leo was done freaking the f*** out...
In 1953, "I Love Lucy" television show made history by openly acknwoledging... pregnancy. Why was this important? Well, it also implicitly acknwoledge *gasp* the act of sex occurred! Oh. My. Gawd! Nooooooo! We don't procreate under cabbage leaves by magical stardust?! Yeah, I know, nowadays, it seems so... quaint. But back then? Lucy and Desi were making history. (And two kids, btw.)
In 1776, George Washington and his army left New Jersey for Pennsylvania, by crossing the Delaware River, and yes, off ot reeze off toes in Valley Forge, and then? Back across the Delaware to attack the Hessians in Trenton at CHristmas, and back again shortly thereafter. (THey crossed that river a *lot*.)
Iin 1998, the first female Olympic hockey game took place, and the ladies of Finland whomped Sweden six-zero.
In 1854, Pope Pius IX declared the doctirne of the IMmaculate Conception, which holds (for devout Catholics) that Mary was born free of original sin, thus making her worthy of being the mother of Jesus. B/c, y'know, otherwise, she's just a yucky girl. *eyeroll* The things they worry about, y'know? For the record, however, it did solve the great doctrinal debate on whether or not Mary was pure enough to truly bear Jesus... Rather like "angels dancing on heads of pins", IMHO, but hey, if you gotta fuss, at least that fuss didn't involve any wars.

I'm off to do laundry (rapture!) and unkink this left calf muscle of mine. I tried this last few monthst o live without memory foam at all times, but... not working... It takes little pressure on an angry spinal nerve to really kink things up. And, y'know, do things like..uh... realize I have no Christmas cards to send (oops) and no muscle rub (crap!) and apparently a shopping list is coming on! Duck!
Cheers,
leo

89FNo energy, just going to do whatever. Sandra, It's hard to move at a certain time in life. You've been in your home forever, at least you'll be able to travel to the beach and enjoy. Oh, we did hear Boris Johnson's tenure ended due to a series of ethics scandals, accusations of dishonesty and a final collapse of government support that forced his recognation. What he didn't do like the...

My cat is going on trial for crimes against skink-anity. SIX in six weeks. Three this last week alone. The crack is maybe 1/4 inche wide. Maybe. Skink skitters past, her paw shoots out, her claw hooks in, she yanks, and somehow, having defied physics... WHAM. Skink-o-rama.Now, don't get me wrong, it's nice that she's a pesticidal maniac, but OMG. Skinks do no harm. They don't come inside. WTF.So,...

Patti, that sucks that you're feeling bad lately... don't hesitate to rant a little should you feel the need to. It's all good. You may just feel better afterwards. I hope you have a better day tomorrow and plus it's Friday! Healing hugs and blessings...
I could go on and on about VA and Military, but won't. However, ONE good thing I have heard of about a VA is my niece's (by marriage) father just passed away a month ago from ALS. The VA (he is in Iowa near Wisc) was phenomenal to him. I was happy to hear that. I so much wish my Tricare (military) insurance would pay for a chiropractor, but nope. If I lived near a military installation I could go to one. Oh and we just got a $176 dentist bill. Hubby went to the place we always go, but because his insurance was still active duty (he didn't realize that I guess) and because they don't participate in the AD insurance plan, we have to pay the whole bill. However his reserve insurance would have paid for it. Okay, done ranting.
My coworkers are down setting up for tomorrows event and I refuse to go. The event coordinator was allowed to take the day off. She is completely worthless and this isn't the first time she decided not to be there for an event and our supervisor allows it! It is also snowing HARD. I am sure I will be the only office person to arrive tomorrow so all of the food set up will be mine to do. UGH! I need to quit being so damn dependable!
Basketball tonight. I need to find my comfy chair to take with me. I will medicate prior to the game too!
Fantod, Bobbii, Sonya and all others, I am thinking of you.
BROWNIES TO ALLL!!!!
My horse was caked in mud head to toe. He's half white half brown (looks like he was dipped in chocolate) but this time he was ALL brown! It was too mucky to do anything outdoors at the stables so they just gave me a brush and said good luck grooming him. I looked at the trainer like, "OK, do you have a pressure washer or perhaps a drive through car wash near by??" Geez. I don't think he looked any different when I was done but he at least enjoyed me brushing the twigs and spiders out of his fur and hair. I had a shower, all clean now.
I have to put away the pile of whites that's been sitting there for 2 days now. And of course my darks are in the machine too.
Having a moderate pain day, after *finally* getting sleep last night, after several nights of tossing and turning with pain from head to toe, mostly right side. I actually had a mild melt-down at hubby last night during dinner, went up to bed then decided to have ...... a big bowl of milk .... uhhhh, ice cream! YUM. Was worried the sugar rush would keep me up, but it had the opposite effect and I actually slept about 12 hours.
Leo, glad to hear you survived therapy. It made me so mad that he could be so incredibly insensitive.
Twin, you seem like a truly amazing mom. I don't know how you do it all. Many moms / dads would just give up, but you keep going, like the energizer bunny. And I agree with a couple others (BBmom?) who said it's good for your daughters to see how you truly feel, and that you can have melt-downs too. I think one of the biggest mistakes my husband and I made with our two kids (now 18 and 20) was trying so hard to hide my illnesses (began when they were 3 and 5) and not giving them the opportunity to show compassion, and what *real* life is like.
