I was given a prescription to get a tens machine and I was very excited to get one however I am sooo overwhelmed by the different types out there. Anyone use one or have suggestions. I could use some help. Thanks

Hi Godstrength-I have used a tens unit for 6 years, mostly on my 3 work days a week. It helps most of the time. Mine is a simple. It is the Tens Unltima 3. It was about 50.00. It takes 4 aaa batteries, and clips to my pants waist. It has 4 leads, but my husband puts it on and takes it off since I wear it on my back on both sides. It is definitely worth a try, and it seems to help many of us. Good luck. Fibrohyg.

If it's possible, you should try it out first. My HMO allowed me to 'borrow' one of theirs and it was a good thing, because it didn't work for me. Even on the lowest setting, it HURT!!! and aggravated the pain terribly.
I have this symptom that feels like electricity running through my body, especially on my skin, sometimes it feels like I have little bugs biting me. I think it was that symptom that was so annoyed, so if you have that too, maybe you could try it out without buying it.

I have an Empi Tens Unit I got through a pain clinic I use to go to. Insurance paid for most of it. I mostly use it on my lower back when it is acting up. I recently found out Medicare won't pay for the pads anymore and they are too expensive thru Empi - so next time I need pads I will get them somewhere else.
