I hate fibromyalgia.
DO you mean pain in the soft part of your foot/heel?
For sometime now ,i`ve been getting the WORST pain ,it wakes me during the night ,with a stabbing ,seering burning pain ,right in that padded bit of my heel..
I also get the nasty throbbing in my big toes, seriously they could make me cry ,the pains so bad!
yep!Agreed...we ALL HATE FIBRO!!UGH!
(ps..been referred back to the reumy i saw after first being diagnosed with this awful ,debilitating condition....aparently he can give better injections/meds etc ,and order what physio /hydrotherapy will help..
Good luck..hope today`s been a little brighter for you....it`s a lousy thing to live and cope with ,day in ,day out!
take care!hugs! xxxx
And, if you are a praying girl, pray because it will not be gone completely,......it comes and goes of it's own free will.....and all you can do is treat it when it hits
First line of defense - throw out any shoes with high heels. Yeah. All your cute shoes Second, always wear shoes - don't walk around barefoot - the hard floor causes more irritation when you have this.
Last but not least, I got virtually complete relief from one steroid injection - wasn't fun but it completely stopped the pain. It shows up randomly from time to time but after the first injection I only had to go back for one more ever, as I threw out my cute shoes (big sigh) and only wear flats with good padding and arch support.
Google "Morton's Neuroma" for more details to see if it matches your symptoms.
Anyway, I know that I got off on a tangent here about shoes. Sorry, I couldn't help myself as it is near and dear to my heart. But foot pain from fibro sucks. It comes at times even when we don't do anything to have caused it. But D is right-on with her suggestions. The only think I would add that also helps me is a foot massage, and of course, wearing good support shoes or New Balance sneakers 620 or higher (the higher the number, the better, as per my podiatrist).
But...I had to give them up and the only way to do that was to physically get rid of them, as I was going to continue to do that "just for a little while" thing as long as they were in my closet.
I wear mostly Merrell clogs and I've compensated by having a whole bunch of them in different colors and styles. I also have a really cute pair of Crocs (yeah that sounds like an oxymoron LOL) in a bronze color - cute flat sandals for summer - that are REALLY comfortable and actually cute!
