I actually love my pt clinic, they are fabulous. This is not the first time I had pt, but first time doing the functional manual physical therapy, which is all hands on manipulation. They do teach me basic exercises to keep my muscles moving.
Before, I treated pt as necessary evil, my last therapist was not the nicest person I've ever met.
I guess it's trial and error. On Friday, I get to go back, after 2 or 3 week break (seemed like a long time) because insurance was giving me a hard time.
So, I am hoping your experience with pt is better this time around, and that it is beneficial and helps with your pain.
As for pain clinics, I went to one for a year and wasted a lot of time and money for now very little help. They did not do pain meds.
The rheumy I see now, is a pain doc, too, but the first visit, he did mor for me than the other quack in a year. Prescribed dilaudid right away, gradually raised, now , I take that and morphine, but when I go in Thursday, I believe all my meds are gonna be changed because I am still in pain 24/7.
Sorry for this looong response, longer than your post, but I wanted to show you that you are not alone, and that sometimes pt may help, it all depends on the provider. Maybe they can give you an afternoon appointment.
