Just that you are going in to this new treatment with a positive frame of mind puts you in a good light.

I have spoken to several people that have had success with the LDN treatment. Some mild some moderate, none pain free but personally I think thats probably to much to expect from any treatment.

I did my trial with LDN therapy as well...I had mild to moderate relief however it just stopped working on day.

My doc and I tried different small changes but I never did get that relief back and we3 finally moved on.

So many people have had great success though and I hope you are one of them. Keep us posted on your progress. I'm interested to see how it goes:)

I can't remember if I posted this or not but we are supposed to have the lactose filler rather than the calcium carbonate filler because we need the "rapid release" rather than the "slow release". Here's a web site that explains it better.

i talked to my pain doc about this, i really wanted to go on it and he said " i don't think this is going to do what you want it to do" and put me on morphine intstead,

i told him study's are showing it works on fibro pain and he told me its more for "herion addicts" i guess he's not up to date on the study's cause he's telling me this while i'm on methadone also for "herion addicts" i brought this to his attention and he said methadone is a potent pain killer. sigh

i really want to know how it works because the morphine isn't controlling my pain.

Please keep us posted on this. I am very interested in getting that from my dr too. Did you have to go off all pain meds before you started to take it? It is an opiate antagonizer.

It so hard to explain how it is supposed to work Rayfoof. The best I can do is...basically it adheres to opioid receptors and helps regulate/stimulate endorphins. By blocking the receptors it fools the body into producing more endorphins, the extra endorphins are what helps with the pain. I hope I described that right:)

Asilinc, you do need to discontinue all opioid based pain relievers. If I remember correctly I could take my Valium. But I am really not sure on this.

I am sorry.. I am so exhausted but will try to give a quick overview. The opioid receptors we have are the receptors for our home grown endorphins and epnkephailins. These are actually very active toour immune systems. Normal volunteers who have taken LDN in this fashion have been found to have much higher levels of beta-endorphins circulating in their blood in the following days Theoretically, there will be a boost toteh immune system with the LDN. It gets things working together, better.

thanks for the in depth info on low does naltrexone (LDN). I have not read much up on it but will be doing that. It is interesting that it helps the immune system. This is great for me because am a diabetic and have to be careful and cautious regarding sickness etc.
