As some of you already know, I got my SSDI approval a few weeks ago. I was rereading the print out they sent me, and realized some good news for those of you that are still trying.
In my 1st application, I dated the last day I had worked was Sep 29, 2006. I didn't start applying till April 07. The print out states that you have to be disabled for a full 5 calender months in a row before you can be entitled to benefits. So they decided that my 1st months of entitlement dates back to March 07. So even though I applied past that 5 months, they back dated my entitlement to before I even applied!!
I just had to share this with all of you that are wandering about the back pay and all that good stuff! So now you know, your back pay is based on 5 months past your last work day and not when you 1st applied (ex: if it was 1 yr later or so).
I t took me 1 year and 1 appeal to get approved. So keep your heads up!

Mine took 2 years, 2 months & 15 minutes. I applied in Sept 05 but they also gave me extra months because I quit work in Jan. 05.
