I know your talking about general pain but for anyone who does have really bad cycles I got implanon. I use to be bed ridden for the full week and in absolute agony almost to the point of going to hospital. I use to just roll up in a ball and cry. They kept suggesting I get an internal exam and for various personal reasons I said no. Eventually I got a doctor who suggest implanon sometimes improves it but she warned me some girls will get a continuous period, some will not get one at all and it can also be monthly as normal or erradic. For me mine disappeared all together THANK GOD! I still get a little discomfort when I'd normally have it but it would definitely be at a normal level if not lower.

Hello rsimmons. I am new to the group (just joined today!) but I wanted to let you know this post from you was one of the reasons I decided to join. Let me explain... I was dx'd with FMS/CFS over 10 years ago and have since been dx'd with several other conditions. When I read your post, I could certainly relate. I am not a dr. but I wanted to share with you my thoughts and hope that they help in some way.
Several years ago, I began having pelvic symptoms that were so very uncomfortable. Some days all I could do was cry. The only way I could describe it was that it felt like I had to urinate constantly and felt like a bladder infection (along with a constant ache). I was tested over and over and result was negative each time. My PCP finally referred me to a Urogynocologist who dx'd me with Interstitial Cystitis with Vulvodynia and Pelvic Floor Myalgia. I cannot tell you how nice it was to finally have someone listen to all my symptoms and know exactly what I was talking about! I have had vaginal pain for several yrs prior but had no idea why. He even explained how my low back problems were likely related.
Anyway...I have tried many things over the years and luckily have been w/o severe symptoms for a while. That was until a couple weeks ago. I am in the middle of a big flare so when I read your post, I took it as a sign that maybe I could help someone else!

As I said...I am not a Dr. and do not know if this is what may be causing your pelvic pain but I wanted to offer my help.

I have heard a lot of woman with FM also have vulvodina (spell).

I have never had that pain but last year found a rough patch on my vulva and went in to have it checked only to find it pre-cancerous cells. I had to have a vulvectomy on Jan 31 and I still can't sit without pain.

It's a place you have to sit on and not being able to sit or walk because of the pain in my feet makes my life very limiting at the moment.

you need not worry we all share and care here. I too like many of the others have vulvo dynia and have no sex life either and ahave a great husband. There is a kind on gel that is a xylocaine for that area. I do not think you can use both hormones, Iam so glad you saw a doctor good luck please keep us ioinformed how you are. It is very hard when you have embarassing momments. but you know just think of it this way I lost all feeling from my wiast down due to a pain clinic doctor . I thought I would die but my husband said your alive sex does not matter. I have had cyst and uterine cancer you need to be safe . Take care. We will keep you in our prayers . isabee

PeacN2you, I have my consultation with the GYN on Friday, but have decided that I am going to discuss what the GYN suggests with my Naturopath before I decide to do anything.

I am really afraid of the Biopsy because I am one of those women with a Cervix that does not dilate, and I never recover quickly from medical procedures. Ugh! I'm clenching up just thinking about it.
