Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.
Please know its not just your doctors who think that way....I've had some too. Just continue to do what you did....INSIST that something more is wrong. You know your body best!!
I hope the orthopedist is a great one, who takes excellent care of you. Baby that ankle, and let us know what he says!
HUGS from down south :)
In November I saw my 5th specialist who told me that he has no idea what is causing my symptoms, so he was going to say, for now, that it's fibromyalgia. He explained it as chronic pain for an undetermined reason. He said that it isn't a real diagnosis and that it's more of a category of unknowns. He is willing to treat me with medications starting next month but I still need to be constantly tested for other things, cancer being the big one that I'm checked for every time I see someone on my medical team. Even my physiotherapist checks my lymph nodes when I see him once a month.
So, maybe your army doctor just has no clue and that's why she is clinging to fibro. It's a category of exclusion and if she isn't willing to keep looking for something else I can see why she would just toss you in that category.
