Here comes a long, venty rant...I'm having a lot of trouble (this week, especially) getting through all the things I have to do-work, appointments, exercise, cooking, grocery shopping, etc....Yesterday I walked (very slowly) into work and people honestly thought I caught someone's stomach flu because I looked that bad. It was actually a flare following a huge fight with my boyfriend on Monday, an 11-hour shift on Tuesday, and the gym and some cleaning/errands on Wednesday...I was up most of the night (even though I was so exhausted that I went to bed at 8:30), couldn't get comfortable or get my GI tract to stop yelling at me, and couldn't even have coffee in the morning because of the GI symptoms. I have no idea what to do with myself...I don't feel like there's anything I can stop doing. I have to work to support myself and my boyfriend, cutting hours is not an option, and I don't want to waste my entire college education on 3 years of working since I graduated. I need to go to the gym to control my anxiety (as it is I'm barely doing enough to keep me from having a breakdown at the drop of a hat), and I also need it to keep my knees functional-when I stop exercising for a while I can't kneel down even briefly without pain and I can't straighten my legs when I get up. I'm also told exercise helps with fibro pain in the long term. Grocery shopping, cooking etc. need to be done-I can't live on processed food like my boyfriend can (thanks to food intolerances) so I'm the only one motivated to cook. A lot of people I know don't really understand why I don't want to go out and do things often, or that I'm literally about to pass out by 8:30. I'm hoping if I just push through it for a little longer the Amitriptyline might start to kick in, but at the same time I'm not expecting it. I just wish there was a way to control one thing without making another worse...it would be nice to be able to do something that's good for my body and not have it make me physically sick...

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
Perhaps there are some ways you can cut back on almost each activity because it sounds to me like you have to.
Exercise for fibro can be very modest....can you put off or space out some things you have to do....?
Hope you get some relief soon. Hang in there.
You are on overload and he needs to step up and help.
Maybe stretching and walking will not be so hard on your body.
Put yourself first.
It is so hard to push through each day. I always do the bare minimum it feels like. I hope you can rest and heal your GI issues soon, I other issues with fibro is insane. ((hugs))
Don't feel bad asking your boyfriend for help with the cleaning. He sounds healthier than you are right now and he may just think you are superwoman for doing it all unless you tell him otherwise. I have to specifically ask my husband to help because if I don't, he thinks I'm just fine, which I am definitely NOT. Maybe if your BF sees that you are happier and healthier when he helps carry the load he will be more likely to try to make your life easier.
we are told to pace ourselves and take it easy
exercise and do physio to maintain ourselves
and some how these two concepts are supposed to work in to an average life.
mission impossible...best just to take one day at a time
harsh....
