Good morning.
I finally got new memory foam for the bed. It was only three times thicker than the old. Whoops. Guess the old was waaaaay too old. (Bought it in 2012.)

History today is realllly depressing.
Hurricane Irma news from NOAA, latest update as of 7 AM, please beware if you live in Florida or that region in general. It's now predicted to take a hard right and dogleg up the Florida peninsula. If you're near the path, within 100 miles or so, please prepare, because the forecast track only follows eyewall. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/graphics_at1.shtml?cone#contents

Famous birthdays of today include:
*The* Marquis de Lafayette, who helped the US win the war for independence against England back in the day.
Social reformer Jane Addams, considered the mother of social work as a field.
Joseph P. Kennedy, the guy who fathered John F and Robert F Kennedy, and made a lot of money doign things that are now illegal, but hey, in the 1920s, nobody thought the stock market would be a problem. (Sad but true. Actually, no, JP Morgan would, but he was unique that way.)
Roger Waters of Pink Floyd (Comfortable numbness is still a state I can't achieve, darn it) Hopefully, this works. The Wall, btw, was one of the first albums I wanted to buy despite my very young age at the time, and remains a favorite. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akDsHTdGDCc

Hiya My internet is changing today and I'm not sure how long the switch over will take, I'm hoping 24 hours at the most, but I'm probably being too optimistic We are changing to another company and going full fibre for the internet. But at least it's changing to the one payment rather than the payment for the home landline phone and a payment for the internet. So I'm not going to be on here...

Name something you hated as a kid that you love as an adult.

I haven't been following up very close about Irma, only that it's a nasty monster and people are out of water and gas lines are nightmares. I hope and pray the thing turns off or breaks apart. Hey, it's happened yah know. Remember in 2015 when we had three cat 4 hurricanes within inches of our islands and the weathermen were saying "This is IT the apocalypse is here."? And then all them turned away / broke apart! They say prepare for the worst and hope for the best. My prayers are with everyone in the FL area.
Leo, yay a new memory foam mattress topper! I bet you will sleep much better now, less hip and other pains. I'm with you about being knocked out for GYN stuff. It's always been painful for me I remember even back in the military (when I 1st had to start getting them) I don't know why. And this one male (military doc) grabbing my leg and telling I had to do it and talking down to me calling me a sl*t and things like that. And the female nurse told me to cooperate it will be over soon. OMG. The nightmares I still get about serving.
Woke up this Am in a rotten mood.... weird dreams that had me get out of bed arguing to the air. Just the usual complaints today.... tired, back and leg pain, knees and ankle. Hip still bothering me after buckling out from under me 2 days ago. I think it's the ehlers danlos that does weird things like that and can explain my frequent falling over the years. I didn't think it falls under fibro.
House was an oven for the 3rd day in a row. Finally got the safety done on the truck.... but after driving all the way in town to the place, couldn't find my insurance papers. Had to go to the insurance office and get them and head back to the shop again. I sandwiched a couple other errands in there. Took up my entire afternoon. Was spent when I got home... to an overheated house, of course.
Mom's errands got pushed back till today. I have to take her to the pharmacy, ATM, and Lord knows where else. She probably wants groceries too.
Fantod, I'm with you about the IBS-C misery..... one of the nasty things I've been drinking lately is magnesium citrate. Just a couple sips before bed here and there because the things that were helping stopped working for me... again.
Shakota, a warm pool sounds heavenly. Wish I could find one around here.
Wonder, congrats on getting through day one! Sorry Beans a bit stunned.
Ida, hope your GI appt went well. I get those too, but probably not as bad as yours. I have to keep a supply of things in my bathroom. Wipes, always have to have wipes!
Gosh, Twin... I hope a dentist appt opens up for you :(
Twin - Thanks. I have to go out in a while. Might stop by the pharmacy.
Got my cell phone reinsured through an after market carrier. Much cheaper, excellent coverage etc. If I ever go back to a carrier that is not prepaid, I will never purchase insurance through them again.
Cleaning and sorting through some paperwork. Got some bills paid. Run a errand or two and then maybe a movie... later!
Miki, glad your pup is ok. That is a relief. Weird about the magazine reader. Hope your afternoon goes well.
Wonder. *shakes finger* It's time for the GYN. I know you hate it. So do I. I hope you can work up the guts to go. Sorry to scold. Hope school goes ok. I know you are a great teacher. Your kids are lucky to have you for sure.
Glad the foam is working, Leo.
Twin, so sorry you are in so much pain. Whenever I think of you going to work, I cringe.
Susan, hope your dog feels loved and that you don't have so much pain.
Angela, take it easy. You got worn out from the fair. Just rest.
Kel, enjoy the Fall. I know your summer was crummy, but you are on the upswing. Take care.
Fantod. Sorry to hear of your GI troubles. I can relate. Hope you can do some genealogy stuff.
Shakota, enjoy the pool. That is the best thing for me anyway. Hope it is for you.
I made it back from my GI appointment. The doctor thinks it's a fissure. I have to have a sigmoidoscopy on Tuesday. Then we will talk treatment. This is no fun, that's for sure.
I'll be leaving for my daughter's in a little bit. I'm so glad to live close to them.
Did I tell you guys that I'm housing my daughter's in-laws for baby's baptism? Also my DIL and grandson are flying up here as well and staying here. I'm hoping my anxiety level doesn't go up. This will be in mid October.
Hi to Blue and Autumn, and anyone else I forgot.
Blue, sorry you are in a rotten mood. And that your hip hurts. Prayers all improves.
The cell towers will be affected by this storm. During the recent storm in Houston, people downloaded an app called "Zello" which turns your phone into a walkie talkie. People used in Houston to get rescued. This could save your life!
