Well he sure sounds like a good doctor... wishing you much luck with getting things taken care of with this new doc. Glad the aqua therapy is helping.
Have a great weekend everyone
take care gentle hugs
Hot pool therapy sounds great.
I don't know if I could do water therapy, but I'm hoping soaking in a hot bath will help. Hugs!
I really hope this Rheumy will prove to be a great doctor for you.

I am just so happy for you about the doc. I found me a doc like that and then she (bless her heart) took a director position up in Alaska. I seriously considered moving =)
So I'm searching again.
But I can't agree with you more when it comes to the PT/ moving on a regular basis. I seem to be able to keep flares at bay when I'm active. The more I sit the worse I get. I didn't believe this 2yrs ago.
But I've have learned that no matter how bad I'm hurting...it's never damaging (except to my ego). So I push myself and I can regain some sort of life back.
Again Sweetie, I am just so excited for you. Finally! Finally someone is listening!
Big hugs!
Please keep us posted on the new doc! HUGS from down south :)
so believe me, i've had my share of let downs. it's sad that fibro is not very accepted or missunderstood by many docs. i'm hoping it will change soon.
the thing that i don't understand... i was diagnosed with this crap by 2 diff docs in Dec 2005 and ever since then have been thru the whole roller coaster of "who is willing to treat me, who won't" thing- you know what i'm talkin about. on and then off different types of meds, etc. BUT at least several docs have CONFIRMED to me that it IS fibro.
but then (a couple weeks ago) the VA denied my claim again for service connected disability on fibromyalgia! and even worse, tried to tell me that i don't even have fibro! dude, the VA is so ass-backwards and corrupt, i really don't understand how they came up with that. especially since my medical service records show i started getting the symptoms in 2002 and i didn't even get out till July 05. should be obvious, right?
anyways.....so the problem isn't whether it's the right diagnosis (in my case). it's just a matter of getting a good doc who is willing to find out how far back does this thing go and is there any other contributors to poor sleep? or other contributors to symptoms that are being masked? these are the questions that all of YOU need to be asking your docs, too.
i don't care if my previous docs are assholes / ignorant. i'll keep LOOKING for NEW ones and firing the useless old ones. i'm hoping that this doc can help me with problems in all those departments, maybe then i won't have to get rid of this one. i hope.
best of luck to the rest of you who are still searching..... i'll be rootin for yah! and please don't give up hope!
