I am an avid reader. I prefer memoir above all. I am reading a memoir of a female heart surgeon which is such detailed and diverse reading. I strongly recommend it. She tells of how difficult is was to train as one of the first female heart surgeons and the glass ceiling, as well as how she pulls it off as a wife and mother. Throughout are some detailed descriptions of heart ailments and the treatments that she must perform without a moment to spare. AND, some great advice regarding this greatest killer of women. Heart disease kills more women than men, AND more women than breast cancer does.

Thanks, Judy. They are actually. And the pic only shows abour 1/4 of the whole thing. I had a friend build this for me and it was like a dream come true. I LOVE it. Almost as soon as it was done, my daughter came home to stay for a while, pregnant. She was here about 2 years and stayed in that room. So fixing it up was put on hold. I'm starting to get the bug now, to get it done and make it my special space. My sitting room/library. ahhhh

I'm reading another great book... Superbug: the Fatal Menace of MRSA. Gripping, fascinating. Reads like a mystery/forensics kind of thing.

I'm a maaajor bookworm. Definitely checking out Healing Hearts asap!

If anyone's into fantasy, I recommend the Ian Irvine books Geomancer, Alchemist, Chimaera..etc. That series, and the follow on one. They're great reads.

LOL, I do love to read. And there are so many books out there!!

It's funny, though: there are so many genres and booklovers don't always love the same types of books. I hope more will post what they love to read here.

I pay to belong to a really great library and I enjoy goin in and browsing their new book section. I read a lot of medical related (right now about to begin a book on Auditory Processing Disorder because some of my family has this difficulty) and memoir (not the same as autobio). The rare fiction book. I did just read one called "One Amazing Thing" where a small group is caught in the basement office of the visa processing for India (located in America) in an earthquake. An unlikely group, and due to the frightening circumstances they decide to each tell their story of one amazing thing in their lives. Wow, it was gripping!

hi narey, this pic is of your library= that is great i too love to read but also have 2-6 books on almost every subject except muder/crimanals! Every room of my house has book shelves from floor to ceiling! i really want to turn my living room into a library/dinning w/the rollin ladder(thats all i need right now!) My favorites books i can read over & over again are=Simple Plesures of the GARDEN by Susannah Seton= its stories,Recipes & crafts from the abundant earth

I also belong to Library & love to go Downtown to Detroit Library & get lost for Hours! great place to belong=summer & winter they always have Reading times not only for children but Adults! Also when we go on vacation i always take my card & visit library's in ea city! great place to buy books too! instead of payin full price! Holidays, they always have somethin goin on!
great place here in Michigan is "New libray in Ann arbor "Out of Ashes" built from the ASH trees that were cut down all over= from the ASH bore disease!
i want to get a kindle or the Borders version but i love to have my books @ my fingers! lookin forward to seeing what other are reading! thanx for posting this... ..

I too am a avid reader, One of my favorite books is Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. Outstanding. Another favorite which is an older book that I can read again and again is Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury. I like this thread and hope to get some more suggestions on good reads. Of course we all have different taste but I am sure someone in the group will come up with a book that another would love.

For those who are animal lovers - specifically dog lovers - "The Art of Racing in the Rain" is an awesome read.

I have a whole new perspective on reading since I published my first book - a whole new respect for authors and what it takes.
