In most cases it's what you ate the day before. Don't discount any artificially died drinks too. I knew someone who had a huge frozen smoothie that was bright blue. The next day he had turquoise deposits in the toilet! I wouldn't worry unless it keeps up for a period of time.
i think Shari is right. i did drink a blue gatorade yesterday, but i drank em before and i didn't have green poo before. (shrugs)
but if it keeps up, i guess i seek a GI doc. just the weirdest thing i seen...
So, think back. What did you eat?
-Salmonella - can cause greenish stool (usually diarrhea)
-Giardia - can cause greenish stool (usually diarrhea)
-Swallowed postnasal drip - ie. from an upper respiratory disorder
-Intestinal disorder
-Starvation stools - usually in children; green watery stool caused by being on a liquid diet for a few days (e.g. if ill)
See also dark stool, blood in stool, or stool color changes
-Normal breast-fed baby
-Gastroenteritis
-Certain foods
-Some cow milk formulas
Green beer....Yup....Green Poop!
Fruit Loops.....turquoise poop
Corn.... Corn-holio poop
LOL, I'm a freak of nature when it comes to what I leave in the throne. It's a celebration around here. When you go for a while where you colon just doesn't work....you learn to appreciate the little things in life.
And in honor of such a lovely post:
