Kefir is a cultured milk product with tons of live probiotics. Just have to watch out... if you buy in the supermarket you don't want to get it pasteurized. It kills the very live cultures that are so healthful. Some people drink it or put it in smoothies. I don't like it enough, so I just take a spoonful here and there. Giving it to my kids that way, too, like a medicinal thing. :-)
Raw milk is milk from cows, sheep, or goats that has not been pasteurized to kill harmful bacteria. This raw, unpasteurized milk can carry dangerous bacteria such as Salmonella, E. coli, and Listeria, which are responsible for causing numerous foodborne illnesses.
These harmful bacteria can seriously affect the health of anyone who drinks raw milk, or eats foods made from raw milk. However, the bacteria in raw milk can be especially dangerous to pregnant women, children, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems.

My food is my medicine. The better I eat, the better I feel. Our modern diet has created a nation of people with chronic illness. The statistics are staggering. 1 out of every 3 Americans will end up with diabetes. 44 million Americans now have Arthritis. Autoimmune disease has tripled in the last 3 decades. And the saddest of all--Our generation will be the first one where our children will die at a younger age than their parents. I believe all of these illnesses are connected to diet. How could they not be? Sometimes I feel like we have all been plugged in to the "Matrix". We are fed our garbage through our feeding tubes and have no awareness of the real world and the healthy vital food that nature intended us to eat. Raw milk is a perfect example. Since we have been on this planet, milk has been a food of blessing and value.(The land of milk and honey). Now, it is the No 1 allergic food in this country. What has changed?
Raw milk (unprocessed milk) has 60 living enzymes and untold numbers of beneficial bacteria. Pasteurized milk contains no enzymes and no beneficial bacteria. It is a dead food. In addition, the homogenization process "denatures" the proteins so your immune system reacts to them, causing an allergic response. So why is modern milk violently heated and put through a high pressure system? So it doesn't have to be fresh. Unprocessed milk is highly perishable. It lasts about a week. I have seen processed milk at Walmart that is dated 6 months out. The only reason it is even kept in the refrigerated section is for show. There is nothing living in it to spoil.
The Westin A Price Foundation is a great resource for truthful information on the value of real living foods.
Real food is delicious. I took my very skeptical daughter to a farm to buy some unprocessed milk for the first time and when she took her first sip standing in front of the trunk of the car she said," This is the best milk I have ever tasted." Just like any food you choose to consume, do your homework. Check out the farm and make sure it is up to your standards. Educate yourself about the food you depend on to heal you or keep you sick. Blindly following the masses on this one will put you right in with the statistics mentioned above.
Do you have farm fresh eggs available? What kind of sprouts have you grown?
Strohm, I bought the extra omega3 eggs at the grocery store. I am hoping to be heading to a farm tomorrow or later this week and might see about purchasing some there. I CAN get eggs from my source, but haven't yet. I am receiving hen chicks late in May so by October I will have my OWN "farm" fresh eggs! :-) I sprouted hemp seeds and wheat berry seeds, and have sunflower seeds ready to sprout when I need to make some more. My little 9 year old who is a little picky due to hypotonia and food texture disagreement loves the wheat berry sprouts. They're sweet!
The dairy lobby works so hard to convince people of the inherent badness of real, unprocessed milk. LOL! Until only a generation or so ago, most used fresh milk products. The graph, if drawn would probably be similar, showing the rise in disease with the rise in consuming killed milk.
It's even been documented (however, these kinds of retractions never make the big news that the lies do) that the spates of illness attributed to raw milk actually came from tainted veggies. hm
