So after my Dr ordered 25 or so xrays,they came back-in her opinion-'normal'. This is GREAT news...but it leaves me wondering what is going on with them! She said there was no deterioration or any signs of 'trouble'. My RA tests didn't show anything either....but she's telling me that doesn't mean I don't hve RA. She says the 'regulations' for determining RA nowadays is different. The new proceedure is to count how many joints are hurting and flarred up/swollen. This seems vague to me. She says,with my number of joints hurting and swollen...that she thinks I hve the early onset of RA. She says I"ll be tested every few mos (whatever insurance will pay). She says with early onset of RA,it sometimes won't show in blood tests.
All I know is that ALL my joints are killing me. It hurts to reach,grasp,twist,etc. It's a crushing pain and it makes me feel nuts when there is no proven reason so far other than I have Hereditary Hemochromatosis and Fibro and that *could* be reason.

Sorry for the pain you have...gentle hugs! I have osteo and AKS, my symptoms are different than yours. I know that RA is a very difficult and painful condition. My friend's husband was seen by one rheumy who did not know what he had definitively. My friend called a local hospital that had a physician referral helpline. They helped her find a doctor with 2 important qualities. The ability to stay the course, find the right diagnosis. This doctor could not identify his condition either, but he led them to someone who could. It was RA and they began treating it aggressively. I pray that you will find a solid diagnosis and caring, compassionate treatment/solutions. Also have you tried the arthritis board to see if anyone there can offer you some good ideas, what they went through seeking a definitive answer? Gentle hugs...take care of your spirit!
