Fibromyalgia Support Group
You're not alone in your pain. Fibromyalgia is a condition that can be difficult to diagnose and manage. If you're trying to cope with pain throughout your body, sleep problems, general fatigue, or other common fibromyalgia symptoms, you're in the right place. The community is here for you to talk about therapies and share your challenges.

I find this paritcularly interesting b/c I take celecoxib as my *one* Fibro drug. (Yeah, woot.) I do think we've debunked the viral causation theory when it comes to the X-whatever, b/c the lab contaminated its samples and finally had to admit that they couldn't replicate results. *BUT* the number of us with latent EBV, for example, or who've had chicken pox/shingles.... Frankly, I'd try this out.
Thanks for posting!
If anyone dislikes reading a paper's abstract, the short version:
A research team has further probed the hypothesis of reactivating herpes virus being an underlying cause of fibromyalgia.
143 fibromyalgia patients were enrolled in a placebo-controlled study (I read several older papers where the sample size was under 50, so this was a bit better, at least) . People either got the placebo, or a 1:1 mix of a common anti-viral against herpes (famiciclovir) and a common anti-inflammatory (NSAID) used for treating pain and inflammation (celecoxib).
They administered questionnaires about pain levels and depression at the start and on several occasions in the trial. The results are that those not receiving a placebo had good rates of reduced pain and increased sleeping rest.
The words "significantly improved" were thrown around a lot by the writer of the paper, saying it could prove to be an effective and novel fibromyalgia treatment.
Very interesting indeed!
I truly believe that bacteria, viruses, and candida are possibly at the root cause of fibromyalgia and CFS.
