Maybe you have sciatica nerve pain. Have you been examined by a doctor? Sciatica pain can be very bad and also make it hard to walk. There are gentle exercises that can help with sciatica if that is what you have.
Sorry I don't have any experience with injections for trigger point pain.
I have had pressure point pain injections, they are similar to trigger point pain injections. I saw a pain clinic doc who injected xyelcaine into the spots where I had pressure point pain. My hips at the back and my back and shoulders. it worked for a couple of weeks at a time but eventually I got scar tissue and had to stop. I hope this helps you, isabee
Several injections plus strengthening exercises plus regular massage have finally gotten it under control, but I can feel it twitch from time to time and I know if I were to stop the exercise or massage it would be back to severe very quickly.
I did a lot of stretches & tennis ball therapy (you use the tennis balls - in a sock since it's behind you - and a wall to rub the points & it hurts like hell but feels better later). I also got off of antidepressants because they made my pain worse.
Good luck - when I had an injection for my arm it only helped the night of the injection, but others have had good results.
I get those spasms in my buttocks sometimes too, but mine are much milder compared to yours. Not only are they uncomfortably painful but sort of embarrassing to ask someone to help rub that area for you too. First time I asked my husband to do that he looked at me and just grinned. I guess he thought I was asking for some kind of kinky sorta thing. I was very quick to set him straight! Lol
I sure hope you can get these to ease or even better to stop.
Take Care, Dawn
