I've said here that Koshka is still really up and down and doesn't seem to be doing great..I brought her in today to get bloodwork because I needed to see numbers and whether they matched how she's doing. Her bloodwork is basically perfect but my boss noticed that she's subtly neurologic in the cage (a little twitchy and slow to follow something with her vision). Her BP was normal but walking around she kind of hugged the edges of the room and if she had to go around something, she stopped and sniffed first...so her vision is not normal. She also stumbled in both her front and hind end, indicating something wrong in the brain (as opposed to the spinal cord). She's able to navigate fine at home but she knows where everything is, and really my place is so small that there's not a lot of open space...she's also been less active lately. She's been more reactive towards the other cats if they get near her for a couple months, which makes sense if her vision isn't good. Unfortunately, another thing he mentioned is that a pituitary tumor is one of the ones that tends to be slow growing...I asked if that could have caused the RTA over the past several years and the answer was yes. So my cat probably has a brain tumor...only way to definitively know is to do a CT, which I can't really afford, and I definitely don't have the money for brain surgery...so I don't think I'd go through with a CT just for an answer. If its a tumor she's basically going to get progressively worse at some point-we're putting her on steroids in the hopes that she improves for any amount of time. I'll watch her more closely at home for neuro signs and hope we get some good time. My childhood cat most likely had lymphoma that went to his brain in the end, so unfortunately it's not the first time I've dealt with this...I just know more what's going on 12 years later and what to look for. But damn. This fucking sucks. And I still have 6 hours that I need to hold myself together...

I'm alive, I'm sleeping like a rock, and for some reason I wanted cherry juice so that seems to be helping. (??? Weirdo that I am.)***Infamous therapies over history:1. The Attic. The madwoman in the attic is a motif in literature going waaaaaay back: the nutty female relative is locked in the attic. (See: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte for a grotesquely racist version of it, and Charlotte Perkins...

Welcome to the Perseid meteor showers, the "biggies" usually every year. (The Leonids beat 'em one year IMHO).AND today much of the northern hemisphere will see 5 to 99% solar eclipse. How cool is that? Your best bet is to be in the UK or norhtern Spain, where totality is excellent before sundown. Me, I'll get a super duper tiny itty bitty slice of it, so little that it won't be noticeable. New...

It's been in the back of my mind that this could be something bad so I guess I'm not surprised to get bad news...just never would have guessed brain tumor.
Sending you & Koshka gentlest of hugs, much support & many prayers. Please reach out to us as much as you need okay. They are our babies & so very special, you have my empathy & support for sure mamacita <3
I think Silver's lymphoma went to his brain, too. The last few months he was around, he often stumbled when he walked. And he became slower. Some times he seemed confused as to where he was, too. Also seem to forget where the litter box was and would go potty in random places. I just figured whatever he had gave him dementia.
I'm really sorry about the news. I hope Koshkas vision comes back so she at least can see where she's going. Poor baby.
