In all my testing for MS, I had one test liek many others, but when my insurance co denied the claim, I didn't realize it and it fell through the cracks until it was too late to win an appeal. The billI was left with was over $5000 and I have been a bit frantic about it. There was no way for us to pay this much, even over years.
My last ditch effort was to write the CEO of the hospital and copy it to a state legislature who happens to be an employee of that same hospital. I sent a copy to the collection co that has been trying to get me to pay. Well, today I learned that they reduced my bill from the over $5000 to just a little more than $400!!! Thank you Lord! a thousand times over.
I am so relieved, and just want to encourage others... keep trying everything till you run out of options, no matter what the dilemma is.

Another Thing to do, Is watch Your Bills..See what You are Actually being Charged For..I have turned in 1 clinic, and a hospital for Either Over Charges, or Charging for services NOT Received..I have been told this is actually a Common Occurrence..which does Nothing except raise our rates..and I put a STOP to it at least around here..
I got charged last year while I was in the hsopital for pain Meds..I Believe the Charges were almost $500.00 Bucks...I never took 1 single pain Med while there...Not 1. They were also Charging me $45.00 per "Warmed Blanket"...for REAL..My Room was Ice COLD..Plus I was sick and Cold Anyway...They Charged my Ins. company OVER $1000.00 Bucks because they Placed warmed blankets on me...well Turn UP the Damn HEAT ! Even people that were Visiting me were Freezing !
Watch ur Bills...Go thru each item !! Always !!
Get Copies of ALL Reports, Specifically Labs, so there are NO Duplicate tests run...which cost us Thousands !!
Dakota, thanks for the good advice. I need to be more careful in the ways you mentioned. Seems like you can't trust people as much as years ago. Judy
